I always thought that scrumper piercings were so weird. I remembered when I was about 12 hearing about someone having the piece of skin that connects their lip to gum pierced I could not believe that! I was already introduced into the mod world a few years before I decided to get my scrumper pierced with stretched ears at 12 and numerous other piercings but I NEVER thought this would be part of my mod list. One day while looking at the site I started looking through the section and decided I really wanted one.

New York The next day we went to American Skinart where I usually go. I told Kat that I wanted to get my scrumper pierced. I thought that the piece of skin looked really small and was not sure if I had anatomy for it. She said that she thought that it looked okay. She also said this piercing was a pain in the ass to pierce. I would have to hold my upper lip up I was a bit reluctant to that luckily one of her friends was there and said that she would do it for me. I was afraid that if I did it I might move or let go of my lip when she put the needle through. I had read that this piercing was very painless and some even said that didn't even feel the needle go through.
She told me to sit in the chair all the way back and put my head past the edge. The girl lifted my lip and Kat put the forcipes on the scrumper. This didn't hurt since I was used to the feeling and never really thought it hurt anyways. She was going to pierce it was a 16g CBR. Since scrumper piercings are usually done with smaller sizes because of the size of the skin it is going through. She told me to take a deep breathe in and then out as she inserted the needle through. OH MAN it did hurt it felt like the needle was going to go through my Monroe also. I sit there for a few minutes with the needle in and a dry mouth this part did hurt a lot. The girl told me to keep breathing and I was doing well. I honestly think this made me feel better and calmed me down to keep breathing. I must have looked ridiculous with my lip like that. I noticed a small group of people looking through the window staring at me as I lay there. She put the jewelry in and I was very happy because this part was painless. I sat up and felt a little light-headed because of the way I was laying on the chair. She made me sit there for a few minutes until I felt okay to stand up. It felt like my lip was sticking out so far! But I felt no pain at all. I couldn't stop looking at this beautiful CBR.
The aftercare was fairly simple she told me not to use Listerine and that I shouldn't be using that at all even though she told me to use it when I had my tongue done but she gave me Tech 2000 because it wasn't as harsh as Listerine. All I had to do was clean it twice a day like any other piercing. I noticed that when I was first brushing my teeth with it, it was a little difficult because it hurt when I had to go underneath it. Now its fairly easy I can just lift it up with my toothbrush and clean it that way. Kat also said that migrating happened quickly sometimes with this piercing I was a little disappointed because I did not want mine to migrate right away! The swelling went down in about a day and now I do not even feel it. Although I have a tendency to move it around with my tongue.
All the time at my school I hear what is that in your mouth! My favorite is "do you have a piercing between your teeth?" I explain and then show them patiently. I pretty much hear about it everyday, a lot of people have no idea what it is or they think it is completely disgusting. I like it a lot and I hope it doesn't migrate soon. My dentist had no idea what it was and told me it didn't look like it was affecting my teeth or gums at all and it was quite a unique thing he had never seen that before.
I think that if you are interested in getting it you should go ahead and do it, it is definitely worth it. I am so happy that I decided to do this. It has become one of my favorite mods.
