Since the very first time I ever saw anyone with their scrumper pierced; I knew I would one day end up getting it done. I think it's one of the cutest piercings, if it's done well.

One day I'm down at the shop, hanging out with my piercer and the topic of the scrumper came up, we started talking about it and I decided I was going to do it. First I went home asked my friends what they thought about it, and everyone just thought it was gross and not a cute piercing at all. But I decided hey, what the hell I get piercings for myself and no one else.

I went down to the shop a few days later, paid my $45 bucks and laid down on that table. Since I was lying down I couldn't hold my own lip open and I also didn't think it would be the very best idea incase I jumped or moved any while getting the job done. So my piercer calls over one of the tattoo artist in the shop and asks him to hold open my lip. Now this guy had HUGE hands, I mean he was putting his finger in my eye, and pushing up my septum which wasn't even a month old at the time and just in general not making it very pleasant for me; but I sucked it up and let them get on with the job. Everything was fine, until the guy holding open my lip hands started losing grip of my lip. They had already put the jewelry in, all that needed to be done was put the captive bead on and everything would have been fine.. but next thing I know they lost grip of my lip, and the jewelry slipped out. My piercer tried to taper it back open real quick, but it closed up too quickly and he didn't want to cause a blow out, or cause me any more pain. All of the sudden I start feeling blood, my lip pretty much started gushing because there was no jewelry to put into the hole. I was pretty upset, but my piercer promised me it would be okay, and that in a few days he would do it again and it would be perfect.

My lip was sore for a few days, and it hurt a little every time I ate something and it would go under my top lip. But after about 4 days I went back to the shop and we tried again. I was nervous, and even before hand I kept on teasing him about how he better no mess up this time. But this time, my piercer had his apprentice clamp my lip, and hold it up to prevent it from slipping again, which was much better because I didn't have anyone poking me in the eye, or pushing my septum up into my nose. I laid on the table, they prepped my lip and pierced it, they stuck the jewelry in right away making sure that it wouldn't slip out again, they put the jewelry in and let my lip rest a little bit then they put the captive bead onto it made it a little bit tighter and it was done in a matter of like 5 min. I got up checked it out, and it turned out perfect! The only thing during the whole piercing process that hurt me was when the apprentice tried to take off the clamps he accidentally closed them tighter on my lip. I was so happy with my results, it's completely straight; it's centered directly between my two front teeth, no one side is lower than the other, and it rest right on my gum line. It's impossible to see unless I'm smiling, and when I do smile everyone notices it. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect piercing. Once I was done, my piercer kept ranting about how it turned out so much better than the last one he had done, and how since it's done right next to my lip even though it's a 16g it won't migrate out too quickly.

I couldn't ask for a better piercing experience. Although I had to get it done twice, I know at least my piercer took it into consideration not to put me into any extra pain the first time he did it, and wanted me to wait to get it done. He also made sure that the second time around it was done right and quickly. I love the way my scrumper came out; I haven't had any pain with it, and it hasn't been any trouble at all. Now I know whenever I smile people will take extra notice to it. So far even though all my friends told me not to get it done, everyone seems to like the way it turned out. I'm just glad I had a good and caring piercer to make sure everything came out perfect.
