First of all, I'd like to tell you that this is a follow-up to my previous experiance. This may seem kind of strange since in my other experiance entitled "Pretty Madonna", I seemed so happy with my piercing. Now, don't get me wrong, I was happy with it, but in the back of my mind I always kind of wondered if my piercing was a little too low... I looked at what seemed like thousands of pictures of girl after girl with the piercing and compared their placement to mine. Although I did see some that were closer to the top lip, most were located closer to the nose. I also worried about tooth decay/spacing when I had it low because it clinked against my teeth when i talked or ate. I had wondered about this from the second I had the new piercing, but kept quiet and kept telling myself that I was 100% happy about it, which is something you SHOULD NOT do. if there are any worries or problems in the back of your head please bring them up to your piercer A.S.A.P! It's your body! Don't be afraid to ask questions!

Anyway, about two days after I submitted my other story, I went to The Tunnel with one of my friends to watch her get her septum and nostril pierced. We went upstairs and into the piercing room with Russ. He practically took one look at my Madonna and said, "That looks kind of low." My heart sank. It wasn't what I had wanted to hear but I knew that he was just being truthful and looking out for me, plus it was time to admit it to someone; I was unhappy with the placement of my beautiful piercing. I knew he was the best person to be admitting it to. He told me that he had had a Madonna piercing as well and his had been too low and caused problems with his teeth, which confirmed my worries. Now all I wanted to do was pick it up and drag it higher. If only that was possible!

I thought a lot about my situation while my friend got her piercings and finally decided to retire my new piercing... and replace it with a brand new one, higher up! I asked Russ if he would pierce it for me on the spot and he said, "Why not wait? We shouldn't fix a problem that hasn't started yet." But like I mentioned before, I'm impatient! I insisted that I wanted to catch the problem before it started. He then told me that I should take it out, let it heal up and then come back and he'd re-pierce it later. NO! I'M IMPATIENT! So he agreed to pierce it higher up on the other side and I wouldn't have to wait. That was fine with me. My nerves started acting up again as he got the tools ready and gave me Oral-B to rinse with. I was all jumpy and excited about the new placement, I would finally be happy! I should have just gone to Russ to begin with.

After everything was set up, he put a mark on my lip. This time I made sure to get up out of my chair, walk over to the mirror and examine it to make sure I was pleased. I was. I lay down and the clamping began! This time it was a lot more ackward because it was higher up. He positioned the needle and I shut my eyes. He instructed me to breathe slowly and he put the needle through. Why was this pain so much more... painful? I gasped at the pain and started swearing. The bar that had been in my other Madonna piercing was only 16g and now we were using a 14g! Who knew a size bigger would be so much more painful? He left the needle in while I calmed down, it was awesome seeing the big needle sticking out of my lip. Very attractive! Then he put the jewelery in. Again, ackward because it was higher up. I walked over to the mirror and laughed at myself. I had one high madonna and one low one and my eyes were all teary and red. Russ took out my low one and I instantly fell in love with my new one. A little space makes a HUGE difference!

We went downstairs and my friend and I paid. I paid $65 this time and although getting my Madonna added up to $165 for both times, it was worth it because now I'm really 100% happy. I also had to buy new mouthwash since Ink Fetish gave me poor aftercare information, I won't be going there anymore. From now on, I'll be going to Russ for all my piercings.
