The Vertical Labret by far is my most favorite piercing. Before I acquired this fabulous modification I had seen one person with it. I instantly fell in love with the look that makes your lips look so delicious. The Vertical Labret and some extra shinny lip gloss and you have the most deliciously perfect pair of lips you can buy without a silicon injection. Mmmmm!

Anyways, Enough about the look.... Now I will start with the piercing procedure: About a year ago I started getting apprenticed, it was something that I have always wanted to do. I love piercing and the look of them. I consider myself a sort of piercing stylist. I not only give the people what they want but I give it to them in a way that makes them look great too! I had a few piercings before my Vertical Labret such as my septum, navel, my lip (with a hoop on my left side), I also have a conch and both my ears stretched to a 00". Which I had all done myself before I was apprenticed. I wanted a new piercing, one that I would feel more proud of sense I would be doing it as a "professional". Sense I was so fond of the look of the Vertical Labret, there was only one more thing to do. Pierce myself. So, as I do every new piercing before my first time, I looked up on it. After learning everything about my new piercing, and after purchasing everything needed to accomplish my task. Then I got myself ready for my new found look. I took a non-toxic marker and marked where I had wanted the needle to pierce my lips. After this I made sure to clamp the perfect spot with the exact amount of skin. After I had everything in place I slid the needle slowly between the holes in the clamp. Then I took the clamps off, wiped way the blood, placed the ring inside the needle and exchanged positions between the two. I replaced the ball and I was done. And my new piercing was beautiful. In the end I didn't have much of a bad experience at all. I had a rather great one. Even though I had pierced myself a few times before. You never know what might go wrong, likely nothing happened this time. Just put on some calm relaxing music, sit in a place free from animals and other distractions and just be one with your needle. Piercing can be a great experience if you do everything right and take care of yourself afterwards. So I send out all of my best wishes to all of you who wish to pierce and maybe even become a piercer some day. Plus if you only do it on the side it's a great thing to do for experience and alittle cash on the side. Just ask your friends to provide there own jewelry and a few bucks for the needle and harsh work... heh!

The After care went well. Of course I took good care of my lovely lips. I cleaned my piercing after every time I ate, every morning and night, also when I brushed my teeth. Sense I don't smoke I didn't have to worry about that. But if you have a new oral piercing and you smoke and great thing to keep with you at all times would be Listerine or any strong mouth wash. Trust me it does wonders! Anyhow, after my lip healed mostly I applied carmex many times a day until my lip was completely healed and soft as ever. Now of course, I use tons of glossy lip junk to make my lips more noticeable and delicious than ever. If you haven't got it from this story I will have to tell you bluntly... I love my lips. I use them for lots of soft kisses and such so they need to be softer than ever.

Thanks for reading my experience. And a little key to all of you out there who do there own piercing or want to. Please oh, please read up on the piercing you want done and make sure all of your equipment is non-opened and very sterile. Also make sure you have all of the right size needles. Nothing sucks more than finishing a piercing, then going to slide the ring inside the needle and it doesn't fit. You don't want to pierce twice in the same spot within a certain amount of time. Nor do you want to walk into a tattoo shop with a needle still stuck in your lip ready to buy a new needle. I heard of that unfortunate story from a good friend of mine. You don't want anything going wrong, or getting infected afterwards. So thanks to all and Happy Piercing!
