First of all, I would like to start my experience with explaining the significance of the title I have chosen. I am only 16 but have very easygoing parents about body piercing and tattoos. I got into all of this when I got my first tattoo at the age of 15, and it has progressed since then. I am now up to 8 body modifications including my 5 body piercings and my 3 tattoos, with plenty more tattoos to come. I have come to the conclusion that my body hates me because with almost all of my piercings something tends to go wrong, and usually after they are healed too. I have had a rejected eyebrow, after many months of fighting with it, I decided to abort the piercing and just get it re-pierced, which I have and is doing very well I might add, with it's twin on the other eyebrow. But anyway, I will take you through the hatred that my lip has suddenly had for me.

I got my lip pierced approximately 8 months ago if I had to guess, ( I lost track ) And it was what I have to say the most painless thing I have ever gotten done, piercing OR tattoo. It was over in a second and hurt less than biting my own lip. I was very excited, and I have enjoyed it to this day where it is still in. The healing process went fast and pretty much all right with the help of some anti-biotic once. I had agreed with myself that I was not going to play with the ring as I have heard some stories...or, myths of what have happened to some people's beads or teeth from the habit. But of course, like the un-perfect person I tend to be, I had been doing very well with leaving it alone, just laying there limp and pretty like it should. I had lost my job over piercing which only encouraged me to get more done, bringing me up to 8 as mentioned before. But the real issues started to happen when I got a new job, and money flow again...which led to wanting new jewelry...w hich I soon found out, was quite un-necessary for me...

When I got my eyebrow re-pierced I decided that I did not want my old C.B.R. and I decided to go with a barbell instead of my old ring, since it would have saved me $20 since I knew I wanted a barbell sometime down the road either way. So I got my little baggy with my ring, brand new piercing and I was off. So this ring had been sitting on my television for a month or 2 now, and I had looked at it almost every morning and every night before I got up and went to bed; and every time I looked at it, it always made me wonder what it would look like in my lip, you know smaller ring, white bead instead of my big silver ball which had always thought to be too big anyway. So stupidly one night a couple hours before work I thought I would show everyone how awesome my lip could look, and decided to change my ring on my own. Well, that is where my problem comes into play, I do not have any of the proper tools, I pretty much do not even have scissors in general. So, to loosen the ring and get the ball out, I used a pair of scissors, and I thought it was going pretty well when the ball easily dropped out, almost as easily as the ring slipped out of my lip. After about 10 minutes of inspection at my beautiful hole, since this was the first time the ring had been out in months; I decided to put my old brow ring in. The ring went in well, but then...the bead was a problem, I noticed my fingers and all my friends fingers were too big to position the ball properly, and close the ring tight enough. We searched my house, and my dads toolbox for anything to close the ring, we eventually came across some needle nosed pliers and pliers in general. We attempted to position it properly and missed many times, sometimes the ring closed but...of course, my luck, no ball and just a tight ring on my lip. We had to keep un-doing the ring, but one time it failed, and my brother decided to join in on the fun, and used a butter-knife to eventually pry it open. We, eventually all gave up, and decided it was impossible, and tried putting back in my old ring, it all went in, but AGAIN...it would not position properly or close. So eventually about 10 minutes before I left for work I asked my dad to help me, first try he got the ball in place with ease! But the ball was loose, and would spin too easily. This made me nervous that I would cough on, swallow or just plain lose the bead, so I attempted to close the ring myself with pliers. I squeezed too hard and the bead shot out of the ring and the ring literally wrapped itself around my ring, I was panicking, and pissed... I left for work and got home later, I asked my dad if he could assist me to pry it open. After inspecting it, he came to the conclusion to use vice-scrip's and needle nose pliers, I was nervous and after much arguing we agreed. We eventually got the ring out of my lip, but it was destroyed from the tools, as was my other and only other ring. I decided to put in the old scratched ring for the night to keep the hole open, and call my piercer in the morni ng, easy right?

Wrong, I called him the next morning, and got a lot of ringing, but no answer. Through all these rings, I began to recall he was going on vacation to Mexico for 2 weeks! And I knew I was screwed... With a bead-less, scratched ring and SORE lip. I decided to go Arden's at the mall the next day and purchase a circular barbell, since it could just be threaded on. We lucked out, and I found a ring that looked to be equal size as my old ring. I instantly inserted it, and now it has been about 5 days ago that happened, and my piercer is still away... But the issue is, something is wrong, my lip seems to be migrating, or just plain seems to be rejecting. I am very upset and hope I do not have to get my lip re-pierced... So in all of this, all I suggest is, if you change your jewelry, use proper tools! Or do not be stupid!
