Ok...so you wanna hear about one of my body modification experiances.800 words all about piercing and me,i shudder at the thought.Seems like quite a lot for something so simple but i will give it a go.Well where to start ,i guess the time of year may be a good place.
At A Glance Author anonymous Artist some dodgy body army guy piercer Studio aldershot england Location aldershot I had planned to get this piercing done for quite some time.My reasons for getting it done were simply i though it looked great.Generally piercings,tatoos,modifications are all about image arent they,and anyone who says they are not is a liar.Know one wants to make them selves look unattractive ,therefore if you thought a piercing looked bad you would not get it done.Its a life style in a sense,and i wanted to further my experiance of being a apart of it,so i jumped on the old band wagon and joined the que.This was my sixth piercing.
It was the end of summer last yr(2000) and after having this whole deal in my head for so long,i decided it was time to put it into practice.I had previously turned up at the studio a few weeks before to get it done but they were closed due to unknow reasons.So second time round i arrived at a studio in aldershot England,for what i thought would be a very quick easy process.
Since i got this piercing this studo in particular has been closed down for having guns on the premises.Probably normal for all you guys form the states.But here thats kinda bad.So as you can kinda start to see,it was a bit of an ugly looking place run by buff army guys,For this purpose lets say his name was `thug'. Anyway i went there with a bunch a people all of us getting various things done.Eye brows,leg tats etc.Everyones piercings and tattoos went well,untill my turn.Whilst everyone else sat about sprawled across this big leather sofa,i passed this big glass screen and asumed position.The screen thing had no purpose but for people to stand behind and look through.What all my mates were gonna witness was a bit of a mess.
So im sitting in the chair, very similar to a dentist chair infact,he passes me a pen and says draw on where you want it,sounds simple enough.I draw a cute little pen dot on my lip where i wanted my piercing,and of we went.`Thug'slapped on his gloves and grabed another needle whilst i just played the target.
He began to put pressure on the needle when something just popped,next thing i know i have blood streaming down my face (sorry for anyone whos reading this for good experiances).Yup he had hit some kinda vein. I had blood streaming form my face turning tissues red in seconds.By this time i was getting a little freaked out with the amount of blood that was coming form my face.So the needle came out,and `thug' consideratly gave me time out to clean my self up abit and for him to calm down after rocketing around the room with tissues.A minuet or so later and it was time for round two.This time it was successfull,yet all the way through in a lame attempt to reasure me, all he could say was...."thats never happened before" whilst running and grabing anyone in site to pass him tissues.
Anyway all buffed and ready to go we all left and hit home.Over the next good few weeks i experance a small but blatent amount of brusing around my piercing and was prancing around with a blue lip for a while.It seemed to get worse before it got any better.and the brusing seemed to slowly surface and spread a little before healing.Not a pretty site.I felt like such an idiot walking around with blue an purple brusing around my mouth.Especially when i had a few shows to go to and bands to interview for my zine.Its hard to take someone seriously with a blue lip .
Eventually it healed up,and now it simply rocks.I would have to say it was well worth getting done,and a few weeks of uglyness is something i look back on an laugh now.The brusing was the only downfall of my mod,but i think this was a one of freak encounter.Now a good seven months down the road what happened that day seemes like nothing.Mind you this applys to most big things that occur in life,time is a healer both mentally and physicaly.My experiance with this body modification has not put me off future mod plans what so ever and i am currently drawing up designs and planes for a half sleve tattoo.
