This experience focuses on my 'anti-eyebrow'. I've had this piercing for over 6 months now and its usually the first thing someone notices about me. Its also the piercing that gets the most questions, so I did decided to write this for all those people out there that are looking into getting an anti-eyebrow, as its not anything like other piercings I've gotten.

First of all, I have numerous of piercings, including 4 lip rings, septum, nose, and navel, so I'm not new to the areas of piercing. Thus you can count on my information as being accurate to my situation. But, alas, I don't know you, or your body, so keep in mind that only YOU can determine whats good for you.
I remember looking in a tattoo magazine that I had recently bought off the shelf of my local bookstore, casually flipped through it and was immediately taken agasped by this one lady featured. She didn't have as much tattoos as I do now, but at the time she did. Also, she had the same piercings as me, which is what caught me in the first place. Upon furthur inspection I realized that she had another piercing that I was not inclined to have. It looked amazing, and didn't seem to take away anything from her face, by means of even though she had only one side, she didn't look lopsided. This and the fact that I had never seen anyone in person with the piercing, the ounce of originally is something I look for in most of the body modifications I have.
When I went to the piercing studio to get it done, I had forgotten that it was also the night of the downtown Black & White Night, a yearly festival involving creepy people dressed in black and white going store to store for personal enjoyment. I walked in, and there was an uncomfortable amount of people. Most people were just in line infront of the counter for the infamous stamps that people were collecting throughout the night, others were there to pester the piercer and tattoo artist and "hang out". While waiting for what seemed like forever, sitting on the couch spazzing out till I could get the piercer's attention, I decided to kill 3 birds with one stone and get the other side of my lip pierced twice to get it to match with my other two.
I arrived at the studio at 7pm, which is usually the time the studio closes, when I finally got to the stool, it was 9pm. I didn't really care because I was thoroughly entertained with a suspension done outside. Kala, the piercer, sat me on the chair, I told him what I wanted done, pointed to my cheek and told him I wanted it pierced. At the time I didn't know what it was called, it was later that looking through BME did I find out. He asked which way I wanted it and marked it. I was able to look in a mirror and have him adjusted. I remember distinctively asking for it to look like a tear drop (a tattoo I always thought was pretty but couldn't get because of the gang affiliation).
It took nearly 5 minutes for Kala to take out the jewelry, change gloves, and mark everything he needed for the 3 piercings I wanted. After the place was marked, I kept taking deep breaths, and concentrated all my energy on my cheek to try to soften the pain that I thought the piercing would give me. Unlike my other piercings, this anti-eyebrow did not have that sting when the needle went in. The only pain I could feel was the tightness of tongs used. Also, there was no sting when the jewelry was put in like other piercings. The only thing I can say about the pain factor was that it hurt no more than a pimple on your cheek, which is close to painless. I paid $20 for the two lip rings and was stoked that Kala didn't charge me for the anti-eyebrow.
After care was a breeze, besides cleaning it I made it a case to not touch the anti-eyebrow at all! At the time I had a large mohawk, and I made sure to cover it when spraying hair spray on to my hair. I used Dr. Bronners Soap (you can buy it at most organic food stores) and with a moistened q-tip cleaned it 2-3 times a day. I put the soap on, worked it through the piercing, waited a few minutes for the soap to dry and then rinsed it out. At first I put Neosporin on it, after I was told it was a bad idea I broke Vitamin E tablets and squeezed the oil on to the piercing to keep it moist during the healing process. I know its excessive but I can't keep my piercings dry for a long periods of time while its healing because I think the dry discharge can irritate the piercing, it just may be my obsessive compulsiveness though. Although I don't think its needed, its a helpful tip if your anti-eyebrow seems irritated by whats coming out of it.
That was nearly eight months ago, and the piercing has not given me any problems whatsoever. All in all, the experience was amazing, and I recommend for anyone wanting an anti-eyebrow to just do it. As long as you are educated in aftercare and are aware that it is considered a 'surface to surface' and we're all know they're reknown to rejection. But I hope this experience helps you, and if you have any questions feel free to email me. My anti-eyebrow is the topic of nearly 80% of my bod mod emails, and I'll try to help you as much as my ability.
