It was the 1 year anniversary of the relationship I am in now, so we decided to go get piercings to celebrate. My girlfriend got a 6g through her conch, and I decided to get my bridge done. I had wanted it done months and months ago, but money and various other restrictions would step in a postpone the event. But I was finally going to have it done. We ate at a China Jade buffet right before it, so we were both a good bit full. I made good use of Funhouse's bathroom prior to the event. We came in and made chit chat with Jen, awesome friend and awesome piercer. We discussed, delegated, and deliberated on what sort of jewelery and the likes. It was good fun, as always. We then made our way to the back room for the event. My girlfriend's piercing went well, it was apparently very painful for her, and I won't disagree with her. She had her other conch done at a 12 two years prior, and said it was pretty bad, so this one done at twice the size was....well..twice as bad. She's a trooper though.

Jen would not rest untill she felt the dots were completely even. So there was alot of me hopping off the bed to check the mirror, alot of erasing, alot of drawing dots, and alot of "argh, just not right" sounds. After nearly 20 of minutes this (20 very much appreciated minutes) the other prep began. I must say, the clamps were the most painful part of the entire event. Again, the prep was very appreciated, but five minutes with a pair of clamps pinching the top of your nose and rubbing it raw doesn't make me want to hug a bunny. The piercing itself wasn't too bad, more painful than I expected, but not too bad. Made me twitch a bit, which is more than any other piercing I've had thus far. I hopped off the table with the needle in to get a few pics, and to see it in the mirror. I got to see a piece of body fat, sticking out of the needle, it was one of the most awesome things I think I've ever seen. I gazed that the dangling tofu-like string hanging from the needle for a while, then laid back down to finish the event. I got a three-quarter inch barbel with nice silver balls, nothing special, but very appropriate for this piercing I believe. We stayed around and chatted with Jen for a while more, then headed out.
About 40 minutes afterwards, I got a strange pressure headache, one that would pop up randomly for the next few day. The headache that would occur wasn't all that bad, but enough to throw off my groove for a bit. Aside from that, I had very little swelling, almost no bleeding, and very little pain. The only noticeable thing I can think of is when I scrunch up my eye brow, one of the creases is a bit deeper than it used to be. At first, I'd catch random glares of light off the balls, that would be a bit distracting, as they are pretty much always visible, but you stop noticing, and they don't crowd your viewing space, it's like seeing your nose, only smaller. The blue ones I have on now occasionally make me think I'm being pulled over, since they're translucent. I have a set of pink ones but my girlfriend says they match my skin tone too closely in dull light, and it looks like two moles or tumors on the sides of my nose.
I had it pierced on the 11th of Jan, and it is now the 14th of March. I got a few new barbells for it, all of which I found out were too short, by a hair, but the colored balls that came with them are fun. I got pink, blue, purple, cobalt, and larger silver ones. It was an awesome experience, and an even more awesome piercing. It still has a bit of crust on it every now and again, but the tenderness disappeared very quickly. Very fun, very nice too look at. It feels nice to finally have it done. For the most part, it seems to be pretty rare, I have only met 3 other people(in person) that have it done, and have heard of few, not to say you'll never see it, but it's absolutely more rare than most facial piercings these days. I suggest it! I also suggest going to Funhouse to have Jen or Angie do your piercings they're awesome, and they know their stuff. Good stuff, hurray.
