I already had my lobes pierced twice on each side, my belly button (done at the Underground), tragus (done at the underground) and a few more ear piercings that I did on my own (I don't reccommend it though). When I first started wanting my eyebrow I was thirteen or fourteen. My older brother Greg had gotten his done, then about one year and a half later I decided I wanted one.

I asked my friends what they thought, they said yea that would be cute me. So after talking with some of my friends deciding on how to approach my mother, grandmother, aunt and pretty much the rest of my family, I asked. She said she would think about it. About three weeks or more went by with me asking almost constantly when my mother said, "If you don't stop hounding me the answer will definately be NO, we went through this before with your belly button ring!" So I quit, then out of the blue right before my fifteenth birthday she said, "Alright Mari, I'll allow you to get this piercing, you will use your own money for everything etc.." I was soo psyched out! I couldn't wait for the day to happen.

I told all my friends, and asked some of my family to take me. My brother told me he would take me but I guess my grandmother didn't want for him to take me. That kinda made me mad, because it was about the only time he ever offered to do anyting for me. But it ended up being all good in the end.

My aunt came to my house one Friday after school, I was playing on the computer. She came beeped the horn and so I went outside to see who it was. It was my aunt (as I told you already), and she said I'm going to Olean (NY), do you wanna go with me and get your eyebrow done. Without hesitation, I came in my house grabbed my money, signed off my AIM, and ICQ, and went running out of my house! I had forgotten to leave a note for my grandmother so I had to run back in and write one. The whole way to the Underground I was talking to my aunt about it. She kept asking if I was scared. Of course I was a little bit because I don't really like to see the procedures happenning. But I wasn't too scared my stomache had butterflies but that was about it. We arrived there, she made me go alone since it wouldn't be too long since they take walk ins.

I got upstairs, waited for someone to come out and talk to me and find out what I wanted done. I was getting nervous so I asked to use the restroom, the lady told me where to go. So I paid then I went to the restroom, came out and looked at the tatoos they had posted on the walls to take up the couple minutes that I had to waste before I went in to get it done. The guy came out (I forget his name but he did my belly button before). They had all the stuff sitting on a table on the sterile blue things they lay everything on. The guy asked me if I was scared. I said no only a little nervous. He said okay and told me to take a seat in the dentist looking chairs.

He cleaned my eyebrow then marked it, told me to go and look at it, I got up and looked in the mirror and decided it looked fine. So I layed back down and closed my left eye (the eyebrow I was getting done was on the left). He clamped it, stuck the needle through, then on when the earring within a matter of seconds. He then had me look at it in the mirror once again after he made sure I was okay. I didn't think it hurt that much at all. It had a little sting, but that was maybe point two seconds long. He gave me the aftercare sheets once again he asked if I was okay, I said yes and I was on my way. I went running down the steps (my heart just a beating because I couldn't believe I just did it). I got in the vehicle and asked my aunt how it looked, she said it looked nice. After that we went shopping I bought some eyebrow rings for when I could change it.

For anyone who is considering getting this piercing, I would say yes. If you're scared it is going to hurt, I wouldn't really worry about it because anyone that I have ever seen with it done and asked if it hurt them, they always said no only for a couple seconds. Although this piercing was more painful then my tragus and belly button (which neither of them hurt at all). If you are not allowed to get it, maybe do alot of research on the piercing and on where you would like to get it done, then show your parents. That is how it usually ends up working out with me.
