I have always wanted to get my eyebrow pierced because I thought it was one of the best things ever. I already have five piercings (two on each ear) regular lobe piercings, and a cartilage piercing on my left ear. I have been begging and begging my parents to let me get my eyebrow pierced for the last year or so, but my mom would always say stuff like "Well what if it catches on something and rips your face off?" and my dad would say stuff like "It's going to leave a scar on your face forever". But I still kept asking, even though I pretty much knew they wouldn't let me get one.

I stared surfing the web about piercings because I thought my cartilage one was growing a keloid (but it's not). Then I came along this site: BME. Which I think is a really cool site. Anyways I started showing my dad some of the tattoos and stuff (because he has tattoos). Then I started to show him some of the regular lobe piercing and all the light stuff like that. Then I clicked the eyebrow one and showed him the pictures. He thought they were ok, and I would tell him about some of the stories on the site about when people got theirs pierced and that it wasn't all that bad. But he

still wasn't falling for it. Then I started clicking all the other piercings and the unusual stuff and he started to freak out. He was saying stuff like "Oh my gosh, you don't want piercings like that do you?", I told him I like them but I probably wouldn't want what all they had, and he calmed down.

Then I didn't really bring it up again for a few weeks because I didn't want him to freak out or anything. But whenever he would walk by the computer and see me looking at the pictures of eyebrow piercings he would ask stuff like "You really want one of those dont you?" and I would say "Yes- at least I don't want "this or that" done".

AROUND CHRISTMAS TIME

Every time we would drive past a tattoo place I would give a little sigh, just loud enough so my parents could hear me. My parents knew that one of my friends had her belly button pierced and asked me where she got it done at. I told them "Tattoo Techniques" and they asked where it was and all. One night my parents came home from shopping and told me they stopped by this OTHER tattoo place to see how much an eyebrow piercing was cost and it was like $50, and that was without the ring! I was like "Dang" because I didn't know that it would be that much and I'm sure the rings are like $10 or $20.

Then one night when I was hanging with my friend (that has her belly button done), we went down to the tattoo place where she got it done at, so I could ask them how much an eyebrow piercing and rings were cost. The guy said it was only $40 and that included the ring. So I was like okay cool. I came home and told my parents that it was a lot cheaper at the place my friend got pierced at. I told them how much and all that good stuff. Then they said they would think about it. Which is better that nothing right?

Then Christmas was here and my dad said to me after we finished opening up presents, "Oh and you can have you eyebrow pierced". I was soo excited. But we were really busy so he said that when we were not busy anymore that we could go. So then we decided to get it done on New Years Day- you know start the new year with a new piercing.

We drive there and walked in and the guy asked what we wanted and my dad told him I wanted to get my eyebrow done. He asked my age and I said 16, Then my parents said they were my parents. Then he told my dad that it leaves a permanent scar, and my dad said he knew, then the guy asked if my dad cared and he said "Well its her decision". Then the guy and I walked to a little room and he asked what eye and I said my right one, he wiped something on it (either something to clean it or to numb it - I don't know), then he put the clamp on and that didn't hurt too much. Then without warning in went the needle- that hurt a bit, then he pushed the needle out-that hurt the most and it landed on my hands and I jumped because I wasn't expecting it and all. He said "Thats just the needle" and when I looked at the needle I didn't know it was that big, I thought it was kind of small. Then he removed the clamp and put the ring on, that hurt- but not as bad as the needle. After he put the ring on, my eyebrow area was starting to get a little warm feeling. So over all it wasn't all that bad. Then we left the room and paid the guy, and my parents asked what I should clean it with and he said just use what you do with regular piercings. My dad also asked if I should spin the ring around, and the guy said you should never do that, because it's like picking a scab- it will never heal if you do that. We said thank you and left. All done!

But the weird thing about it all was that he never asked for ID from my parents. Also I never got to pick out where exactly I wanted the piercing. It's in an okay place I guess, but I would rather of had it more on the inside and a little bit higher- because the top hole is like exactly in my eyebrow. I kind of wanted it so my eyebrow would like go through the two holes and all, but oh well....and he didn't even really talk at all to me..weird not even his name...o well.

So I've had my eyebrow piercing for about two weeks now. The fist week went really well. I was kind of scared that it would get infected so I would constantly clean it all the time. I would clean it with Dial soap in the shower every morning, then when I got out I would clean it with ear care antiseptic too. I would also clean it with water a few times during the school day, and clean it again with soap when I got home from school and before bed. Now it turns out that it did get infected, and that's not good. I guess it can get infected if you clean it too much like I did. So remember-LESS IS MORE!! Now, I just clean it with soapy water twice a day and apply the antiseptic after I clean it, and I clean it with just water whenever I see any build up.

Anyways if you want to go and get your eyebrow done then just do what I did, but go to a better place then where I went..It wasn't dirty or anything-just a little weird..oh and good luck!!!
