Hi! So here's my story of my horrible eyebrow experience!

In about October of last year I decided I really wanted to get my eyebrow pierced because I thought it looked so awesome. I was also trying to pull of the punk, I'm hardcore look but it just wasn't my thing. Anyways. I talked to my sister about it and she decided that she too would like to get hers done. We weren't sure where we wanted to go but she said she there was place in Weyburn where she lived that did tattoos and piercings. The guy did her tattoo and she said he was really awesome. And at the same time about 4 people from my school were going there for tattoos.

My sister ("Jane") went to see how much everything cost and how old I had to be. He told her that in order for me to get a piercing by him I had to be 18 or parental consent. My mom said she didn't really want me to get it done but she said she rather have me asking for that then a tongue ring.

For Christmas my one uncle always gives each of my sisters at least $50 and so does one of my other uncles. Jane and I decided that we were going to try to go after Christmas so we had the money. The shop was closed between Christmas and New Years so we had to go after New Years.

Jane went and talked to the guy to see when we could get appointments. He said January 3rd. I was so excited I could barely contain myself. Little did I know what was coming.

That day my mom and I took off to go to Weyburn. I talked about it the whole way there. Well we and went and pick up Jane and went out for lunch. After lunch we headed over to the studio. When we got there we could hear this buzzing that I've never heard before. It kind of scared me because I had no idea what it was. Jane said that's the sound it makes when you are getting your tattoo. I felt okay again. When we got inside the guy came out and asked my mom to sign these things and that it would be a few minutes before he was done with the tattoo he was doing. There was another older man there that was talking to us. By the time mom was done writing out the form my stomach was starting to turn. My mom and the older guy were talking about how good of work the guy does and what all tattoos he has. I was up at the front looking at the hoop I wanted. I seen that there was some titanium ones but they looked smaller then the rest of them.

When I got my bellybutton pierced it got really bad infection in it and when I went back they changed the silver hoop to a black titanium bar and it was fine by the time I left the store. The lady told me Id more then likely always have to wear titanium now. I was kind of mad because I couldn't find it hardly anywhere.

So when I told the guy this he looked at me funny and said all right then that's the one we'll pierce with. My sister went first and came out kind of teary eyed. I went in and started talking to the guy. He asked if I looked Godsmack or Disturbed better to put on and I said I like Disturbed Down With The Sickness. His wife and kids were also there so his daughter was standing beside me watching. I'm not one for needles. But this little girl didn't seem to have a problem with them.

He told me what he was going to do and showed me where it would be placed. As soon as I seen him grab for the needle I close my eyes and the little girl goes "would you like me to old your hand" Laughed and said no that's okay but thanks anyways. All of a sudden there was a little pinch and it felt like it wasn't in and when I asked if it was in he said "o ya its in that's the ring you feel." I was so amazed because I barely even felt it go in! He laughed and said I was stronger then my sister. We paid and left.

Jane had a way bigger gage in her eyebrow then I did and hers was starting to heal already. Mine was a lot smaller and mine was getting redder and redder. I was in Regina visiting my cousin and we decided to go to The Rising Sun and see what they suggested I do. I talked to a really nice guy that told me the guy never should have pierced with that small of a hoop. He said that the piercing lady wasn't in that day but would be back the next. But I was leaving that day so it didn't much matter. So we went to Razamataz and this huge guy with a billion face piercings came over and asked what he could do. I told him my story and he said, "Well we can take that one out and then shove a bigger hoop through so it will be like getting it repierced. Just the way he said it scared the crap out of me so we left.

The next night I was at a Nickelback concert and I went crowd surfing. I almost got ripped and I hit my eyebrow. I thought for sure it would be worse then before but for some reason it got better. But after about a week or two it was getting worse. I went to Bodily Charm in Estevan and the lady said the only thing I could do was take it out and start over. She said the guy was a total ass to pierce with titanium and with a ring made for ears.

Needless to say I haven't returned yet to get my eyebrow done, but I plan on it in a few weeks. I'm not saying the guys a horrible piercer or a bad tattoo artist. But just make sure you trust the guy a lot and make sure he knows what he's talking about!

Note: Titanium is very safe to pierce with, and most people agree it is a far far far less reactive material that steel alloys.
