I have wanted to get my bridge pierced since the first time I laid eyes on it while browsing the bme website. I of course then read everything about it, because that is just what I do. I must know anything and everything there is to know about a piercing that I would consider getting. My sister James' boyfriend Jawsh is buddies with Tyler from the Way Cool studio in Waterloo, so a hole bunch of us planned to go for a "piercing party" one summer day.

We went to the bank to get some cash, and then toured on our way to Waterloo. We stopped at Tim Horten's on the way to get a bite to eat and some coffee.
When we got there, we looked for Pornshop's house, where the "piercing party" was gathering. We chilled there on the couch that was sitting on the lawn for a bit, and got aquainted, and soon enough we were on our way to the studio. There was three cars of people that were on their way.In about five minutes we arrived at the shop. We all went in and looked around, and chatted while we waited. We all went out on the deck to chill as we smoked.
I was the third last person to go, so I was dying with excitement as I just simply couldn't wait for my bridge to be pierced. So when it was finally my turn I jumped up off the deck and ventured on in. I laid myself down in the super cool chair, and waited while Tyler got everything ready. He shoved a big bright light in my eyes and began marking my bridge. He cleaned the area, measured everything up to make sure it was centered, and then asked what I thought of it. I said it looked good to me, so he continued with the process. He got out the clamps and gently placed them on the bridge of my nose. He told me to breathe in deep and when I release the air is when the needle will go through.
"Breathe in... and out," and the needle is through my skin without the slightest bit of pain. (The only thing that was really bothering me was the intensely bright light in my little eyes. but hey, he needs to see what's going on.) I got everyone with cameras to take a picture with the needle in, so about 3 flashes went off. Tyler then inserted the jewelery, which also was not painful at all. He cleaned my bridge again, to remove all the purple marker he used to mark my bridge with. The whole thing actually felt good, like right after you get a cast off and then you can finally scratch your skin.
After I was all cleaned up and ready to go, still laying in the chair, he told me all about the aftercare of my beautiful new piercing. He told me to put spectro gel on both openings of the piercing, let it sit for a bit, and then move it back and forth so the gel goes inside. Then he told me to make sure it is rinsed clean, and to dry it with a clean towel. He told me to change all my bedding to clean bedding and only use clean towels. He also told me not to put any make up anywhere near it, and to take some Advil for any pain if it occurs.
We were at the shop until it closed, looking at my new and improved self probably a hundred and ten times while waiting for the others. Not everyone had time to get something done.It was a big piercing party, and an exciting day.
On the 45 minute drive home to Stratford, me and Benny listened and sang along to the radio. I was still too excited and overjoyed to do anything else, I just wanted to celebrate!
When I got home I saw my sister Bina, and my brother TJ on the front porch, so I immediately showed them both. I took good care of my piercing and it healed really nicely. I had absolutely no problems with it at all. No pain, no infections, it was just a good little bridge. Now 4 months later, it is still beautiful as ever and treating me well. So if you're thinking about your getting your bridge pierced, go for it. Make sure it is something that you really want, and be prepared for the same questions being asked over and over again. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful experience, and made me a happier person. I could never even think of parting with my new friend.
