Wellll it all started out a week before Easter. I had been begging my dad for months to say OK. He didn't like the way they looked, especially "on me". But I gave him a huge lecture on "appearance shouldn't matter"... and he finally gave in. (I'm a good convincer ;) )Amazing! Unfortunately I couldn't get it done that day, it took me a little longer to save up the $40.00 than I expected, being that I didn't have a job. Eventually I got the money saved up... and I made my appointment! The day of my appointment I was at school and I couldn't sit still. I didn't tell anyone about my plans for a piercing, I wanted it to be a surprise. Finally 2:22 PM rolled around and I was off for my adventure!

I got my mom to drive me to a local piercer, and it was pouring rain out with a ton of horrible traffic, I thought we would never get there. The guy had pierced my bellybutton two years before, and he did a pretty good job with that, it never got infected and I still have it to this day (four years later). I was a little nervous when I got there and I had to wait for another girl to get her lip pierced, she was so nervous, she also looked pretty young. I thought her little brother would pass out as he watched his beloved sister get a needle jabbed through her lip.. he was holding onto the wall like there was no tomorrow. Thankfully my nervousness faded because I was getting really excited. The piercer was old and had a long white braid and a million piercings all over his face.

He had me pick out what eyebrow ring I wanted, and yelled at me for getting too close to them with my fingers. I really wanted a small one, and thought that the one I picked would be too big. There were colorful ones, silver ones, gold ones, glow in the dark ones. There were huge ones and medium sized ones. Rings and barbells. It took me about five minutes to finally find the one I wanted. I choose the smallest silver one they had with a blue gem on the top ball. How cute.

Next he had me sit down on a chair that looked like he picked it up from a dentist office. It was kind of uncomfortable and a gloomy gray. He explained how to clean the piercing (twice a day for a month) and told me how long it would take to heal. He clamped my eyebrow which didn't hurt at all. He got this pretty big scary looking needle and stuck it through... and guess what? The flipping needle went through my skin and then right up through his glove and it was pulled out!! It hurt like crazy. He didn't say anything. He just stuck it through again. Then he got the eyebrow barbell and stuck it in the hole. He got the top ball and dropped it on the ground! He scrambled around trying to find it... and when he couldn't find it he gave up.

I saw my sister and mom staring at him with their eyes wide and mouths open... looking totally horrified. I'll never forget what they looked like, haha. I didn't know what to do. I think I laughed out loud a little, either because I was nervous or because of what GREAT luck I was having. I swear the craziest things happen to me. I was wishing I had some music to listen to... he was killing my eyebrow and I knew some good Incubus would have been relaxing. Finally he got a new silver ball (the same one I picked out though) and screwed it on tightly. Thank god it was over!

I paid him and got out of there quick, and the whole ride back home I couldn't take my eyes off my new beautiful piercing! I adored it. I went to go get dinner and kept thinking everyone was staring at me. There was a burning sensation for about ten minutes after I got it pierced from the "anti-bacterial" stuff he put on the needle, but it didn't hurt very much. It didn't swell, but it was red. It never bled the whole time.

All night and day I couldn't stop looking at my eyebrow ring by looking up through the corner of my eye. I hear you shouldn't do this.. it can make you go cross eyed or something? Buttt... I would definitely recommend this piercing to anyone! Just make sure you find a really good piercer... it sucks when they mess up! I'm getting a new piercing next week.. lower lip, wish me luck!
