I've contemplated getting my bridge pierced for a few years already. I never got to do it, mostly because college and my rent are sucking up pretty much all my money, and also because I usually have bad luck with piercings with rejection risks like eyebrow ones. But after researching a little, I found out it'd be a lot less likely to reject than I thought. So I told myself I had to find the money and get it done.

That's when I search my pockets for money, and, finding about 100$, turn left and decide to go to Nephtys Tattoo, as I always do when I want to get a new mod. Knowing my piercer works sundays, I didn't hesitate one bit and walked in the shop. Martin, my piercer, was having coffee so I told him I'd wait until he was done but he told me he'd do it right away. So he went to his piercing room to prepare his stuff, so I chatted a bit with Andrew, the guy at the front desk. He handed me the contract and told me "I imagine you're used to filling in those things." with a grin. I laughed and signed the contract, then sat on a chair waiting for Martin to come out. After a few minutes he told me he was ready, so I followed him to the back of the shop where his piercing room is.
We started discussing music as usual, and he also asked me about my ear (due to bad luck I'm gonna have to get it scalpelled soon enough, and he's going to do it). So after about 5 minutes where we were talking while he was looking for a barbell the right length, he decided he'd use a PTFE bar, so I was all glad, knowing it'd be less prone to rejection. As we were talking I chose the balls I wanted, then he told me to sit up to do "those little fucking marks", which actually took about 8 minutes to get perfectly aligned. After marking the entering and exiting points of the needle, I took a look in the mirror to see if it was okay, and it looked fine to me, so I told Martin to go ahead. He made me lie down, and, knowing the routine, I started breathing slowly and deeply. He said "Okay, here we go." And stuck the needle through. It took a few seconds to get through, I could feel that Martin was putting much pressure to push the needle through so I figured out the flesh there must be pretty thick and hard. It didn't hurt much at all, actually it's probably the least painful piercing I got after my tongue, and my eyebrows. Once the needle was through, I wanted to open my eyes to see it but since they were closed when Martin did the piercing, the needle was over my eyelids and I couldn't open my eyes. Martin then proceeded to put the bar in, then put the balls on. "Done" he said, and I quickly got up to take a look in the mirror. There was virtually no blood, 1and besides the light swelling, it looked wicked.
So I thanked Martin and we chatted some more, then walked out of the shop all happy, my sister threatening me to kill me cause I got my bridge pierced and she wanted a piercing too. Everything was fine all day, until later on in the evening when I started to feel a slight headache. It probably was due to the swelling, which went down about 36 hours after the piercing was done, because the next morning everything was fine I didn't have any more headaches since then. I had some crusted blood around the piercing for a week, every time I'd take a shower it'd wash away but bleed again. So I carried Q-Tips and salt water all the time at school to wash it off because it didn't look too good. But now, after 2 full weeks, it's perfectly clear of any blood. I still have crusties but I know they're due to healing, so I'm not annoyed one bit.
I have to say that this piercing is one of my favorites so far, even though I've been given the nickname "Four-Eyed Girl" by a few of my friends. I say if you feel like doing it but think it'll hurt, overcome your fear and go for it because it's virtually painless (depending on your level of pain tolerence of course). I will probably post pictures of it soon too, so in the meanwhile, that is all.
