It all started about a month after I got my second nose ring. I was getting a little bored again and decided I needed something else done...

I wanted them stretched but they weren't even pierced yet. I heard from my friend that it would probably cost about $20 more to get them pierced on top of the stretching, and the jewelry I'd need. Then I realized that I didn't really want to bother with all that cos it sounded a bit complicated. I didn't have much money either. So about a week later I asked my Mom if I could just get them pierced normally. She gave me the money to do it and (as usual)I got Justine and we went to the mall. I know you're not supposed to get anything pierced with a gun but I really didn't have much money and everyone I knew (even my Grandma) had their ears pierced with a gun. So instead of going to the annoying cheerleader/preppy girl Claires store we went to a nail decorating place. I was a bit nervous since I only had things pierced with a needle but it went fast and pretty painless. So now I finally had my ears pierced after putting it off for nearly 10 years (when I was little I couldn't stand needles or anything like them). So it's a few hours later and we're sitting in the car talking. Justine has her eyebrow pierced and we ended up talking about that. I was looking in the mirror and I thought something looked missing. That something was an eyebrow piercing. So I called Sandra's Ink and got an appointment for July 28 at 6. So I had about a week to wait, which I spent bugging Justine with questions about her eyebrow piercing hehe.
So it's finally Wednesday. My eyes were really bugging me so I couldn't get my contacts in. Of course I'm not wearing my glasses. Not only did I look pretty bad but I figured they'd get in the way too. Finally I got one contact in my right eye, at least I could see a bit. It was unusually blurry though and it made me mad. So I went to meet Justine halfway. I found Justine and we walked back to my house, me bugging her as usual with questions about how much it hurt and everything. We got back to my house and I grabbed my money and my Mom drove us.
So we're there and I'm not really that nervous anymore. I guess because I've been there quite a bit now. We got the usual forms, one for my Mom to fill out since I'm under 18 and one for me with my information. After that we waited. It took a bit because I think the lady before me fainted. I was kind of just staring at the wall cos I couldn't see much else when Justine poked me and said it was my turn. So we went into the room with Maria and it smelled like peppermints, and Metallica was playing in the background. Justine went and sat in her usual spot off to the side while Maria clipped my hair back and marked my eyebrow. The barbell was going to be a bit bigger so it would be noticeable with all my other piercings. She asked me to check it in the mirror to see if I liked it and I did, so she said I could sit and she gave me a cotton pad with peppermint aromatherapy. I made Justine come sit next to me so I could squeeze her arm. Now comes the good part everyone's been waiting for...
I laid with my head facing right (I think right, I always have trouble remembering right and left) and squeezed Justine's arm. Then did the usual breathing to calm down. After about 4 deep breaths the needle went through. It hurt a bit more than my other piercings but it wasn't that bad. But then it started to swell. Justine was like, "whoooa mine didn't do that," and she looked pretty shocked. Maria said I just puffed up like a balloon and even the receptionist lady looked in to see. So the barbell in there was too short now and I needed a longer one. So Maria put some kind of freezing on it and took out the old barbell. Then she used a taper to open it again. I kind of felt it a bit on the inside, but it didn't really hurt. Then the new bar was in. Maria asked if I felt light headed, dizzy or anything and I said I was good and she asked me if I wanted water or juice. I picked water, and she brought me a cold bottle from the fridge in the back. Justine was still looking all shocked and I thought it was pretty funny. Then Maria told me the aftercare. Witch hazel to clean it, salt soaks at night and to keep the swelling down soak a cotton pad in distilled water with ice cubes, take ibuprofin and change the pillowcases every night. So we all went back out to the front so I could pay. It was only $54 (pretty good deal compared to the other places plus you get a free downsizing a month or so later). We said goodbye to everyone and went around the corner to Save On Foods to get Advil and of course chocolate. Justine laughed at me on the way home because I was trying to swallow a pill and I couldn't. Eventually I figured it out though, yep I'm smart.
That night it was swollen so I just took an Advil and used ice water on a cotton pad to keep the swelling down. It didn't hurt to clean it or anything. I found a shot glass that fit perfectly over it to do salt soaks with. The swelling was gone in about 4 days and it never really hurt at all. A few days later my friend Ashley got her eyebrow pierced too and in a couple days I'm going to get my barbell downsized.
So if you want to get your eyebrow pierced you should. It's a pretty easy piercing. I don't think you'll go poof like I did hehe, and even if you do it's still not too painful. So I'm done, I know this was long but I'm petty detailed and if you read all of this you should get a star :P
