It all started June 03 when I decided to have my eyebrow pierced. Instead of getting the end done I had the middle done. I went down to the same studio as I had my lip piercings done with my mum as I knew them in there and it was clean and they had all the hygiene certificates. I had it done and all was fine, I cleaned it with salt solution for the suggested period then left it alone. It looked really good and as I had had o trouble with it I decided in september I wanted another one next to it. I had it done and it looked clean for about a month and I thought it was healing well as I had no pain or puss but boy was I wrong!

My birthday came and I went to get my other eyebrow done but this time going across. I had it done and while I was there I showed the lump to my piercer. She said it looked fine and just to clean them. Over the next few days it slowly got bigger and bigger and got very painful and puss was now leaking out from the outer eyebrow piercing. I went back to my piercer and they said to just keep bathing it in salt water solution and it should go down if not go back to see her, so I continued to clean it twice a day. After about a month it had gotten bigger and bigger and was now about 1/4 inch big and full of pus so I went back.
My piercer said I need it lancing so she took me in and popped it was a needle and squeezed hard. At this point you might be thinking 'why didn't she just take it out', that's what all my family said but I am a stubborn person and was convinced I could get this to heal up. It was so painful but I thought it'd be worth it if it cleared it up. I was advised to give them a salt soak twice a day. I did that but it didn't go away so continued to bathe it. After a few more weeks it was still there so I went back. In this time sometimes it would get so full of pus it would hurt then it would pop on it's own. As the lancing hadn't work we tried using a black metal as she thought I was allergic to the stainless steel. That week it did seem to settle down but then it flared back up. I left it alone in hope it would settle down again.
Anyway I had a job interview and had to take my piercings out. On the way there I lost the bag of bars. I hurried back to piercing studio to buy new ones but they didn't have any. I was given clear plastic ones instead and these would also help them heal. When i was putting the bar in the outer one it went right past the bottom hole and down into the lump, I could see it moving about. The infection must of eating away at my skin and made a channel to allow the pus out via the piercings. My skin was going really red and scarring by now. I soon took the just outer one out because I weren't having much trouble with the other one. Overnight it healed up and I'm now left with the other one and thats all health thank god.
I had some bad scarring but I've been rubbing vitamin e oil on it and now it's hardly visible. I've since gone onto to get many more piercings and have had no problem apart from the bridge of the nose where a similar thing happened and I had to take it out but I weren't to bothered because it was healing wonky even though it started out straight.
I got good after care and all the bars we tried out were given to me for free but I think I just got funny skin. It hasn't put me off but I'm a lot more careful with my fresh piercings. I'm getting a star done very soon and got a whole lot more planned and I'm still going to the same piercer as they are clean and professional and I don't think they're to blame for what happened to my eyebrow and nose but I am gonna keep a close eye on them from now on and just hope they don't go the same way. If they do I'll just take them out and try again!
