So I've been pierced before, and I plan to get pierced again - but at the time I figured why not get my eyebrow pierced? - it's about as discreet as you can get for general facial piercings, and I had been aching to get another piercing done anyways. You know even if you say, "Okay well I'm only going to get one, and then that'll be it, I swear," six months down the line, you'll want to get pierced again. I promise.

I had gotten my lip pierced in October, so I knew the general rules and guidelines of getting pierced - what to expect, what to look out for, all that kind of stuff. Either way I decided to do a little bit of research anyways, I checked out the BME website and just looked at some pictures, I wanted to see the positioning on people's faces and that kind of thing. I also read some experiences just to make sure I knew what I was getting myself into, since a eyebrow piercing is considered a surface piercing, and if it's not done correctly, it has a chance of growing out.
After I did my research, since I was 16 at the time, I did the whole asking the Mom thing, and after a couple of days she said that if I wanted it, I could get it. The same thing happened with my lip piercing, so after I got enough cash together, we went down to the place I had gotten my lip pierced at. It's a really friendly, clean and safe environment, and my piercer was really nice. The same guy I had before, anyway.
So when we got there, we went up to the counter and I said I wanted to get a piercing done, then all the typical stuff followed. You know, signing the papers and making sure my Mom read all the stuff over. After she signed the release form she left, and the piercer went to go clean the piercing room and his supplies. When he came back he gave me a sheet with all of the cleaning and aftercare information on it, and told me how I should clean it and how often. After he made sure I had gotten everything, he took me into the piercing room and I sat on the bench that he pierces on.
He put a pair of clean gloves on and then asked me which side I wanted pierced. I said right, he pinned my hair back and then cleaned the area. After he did the positioning on my eyebrow with some ink, I checked it out in the mirror to make sure I liked where it was. He said he got to choose where the best place to pierce it was, and then after I could tell him if I liked it or not. I didn't have a problem with it at all, it was perfectly where I wanted it.
So after all the planning and stuff was done, he told me to lay back on the bed, and after he got my head in the right position, he put the clamp on. The clamp probably hurts more then the actual piercing dones, just because...well, it's a clamp. Pinching hurts, clamps hurt. He got the needles ready and told me to take a deep breath, and that's the best part of it all is when you get the adreniline rush just as the needle goes through.
He pushed the needle through and asked if I was fine, and I guess because there's more skin there, it hurt a little more then my lip. Piercings in general don't hurt really, but it was just enough for my eyes to water out of reflex. After he got the needle through, he put the hoop in and closed it up with some pliers. I laid down for a minute or so and then slowly sat up, and then he cleaned me off and showed me in the mirror to make sure I liked how it looked. It was really awesome, the positioning was amazing and it was just really great.
After I sat there for a few minutes, I went back out to the waiting room and got my jacket from my friend who came with me, while he cleaned up. When he came out he told me what to clean it with, then I paid him and left.
The aftercare was really easy, it's definately easier to take care of then my lip was (even though that wasn't hard), and looking back I probably should've gotten my eyebrow pierced before my lip, but it doesn't really matter. The only weird thing about cleaning your eyebrow piercing, is the first few times your skin feels weird because it's freshly pierced and your skin still like sticks to the ring or whatever you want to describe it as.
I still haven't changed it to a barbell, because I keep knocking it and it still gets irritated every now and then. I recommend rubbing tea tree oil on it if you have any problems, I had slight scarring but it made it go away and heal a little quicker. But ONLY rub it on once it's healed. Anyway yeah. My eyebrow piercing experience. Fun.
Next I plan to stretch my ears. My goal is 0g, but you never know what happens with that. I also want to get two more piercings on my lip. One on the right, one on the left. I plan on getting the left side pierced around Christmas, and then the right as a 18th birthday present to myself. Knowing me, I'll have them both by January.
