Well I had been thinking about getting pierced. Had been thinking heavily on it for quite some time and was fascinated with getting my nips done. That'll come later I think though, but lets get back to my eye brow.

I am sure you all think that it's stupid to feel as nervous about getting an eye brow done, but I was. This was my first real piercing besides my ears. Which I have my left one done 5 times and my right one once. Also I did my ears myself a long long time ago.

The day came that I had decided to get it done. It was lunch time and I decided to drive into town. Well I did, and I kept on driving. I thought too much on it and didn't do it. I felt like shit though for chickening out of it.

Went back to work and decided, hell with it and the next day I drove back into town. Walked into the shop and told the woman what I wanted done. She asked what eye and I asked did it matter. She said that it didn't anymore. I then decided that I would stay with my left side since my ear was adorned pretty much with the 5.

She did her thing and a few seconds later I was pierced. She said that the worst part was the clamping. Well she lied... It didn't hurt as I thought it would but my eye still watered from it. The pain was actually quite stimulating. Was a short rush, but a rush none the less. There was only a little bit of bleeding and the bandage took care of that.

I went back to work and stayed in my office for the hour and a half to go by. Watching the clock until the time came, I took the bandage off and stared at my piercing in the mirror. I loved it... Had a 16 gauge Captive Ball Ring attached. It was slightly swollen and a little red but there wasn't any pain now.

By the way, I didn't mention that I also am a student of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Later on that week I went to practice, placed a gauze square under some athletic tape and went at it. After about 5 minutes the sweat got into the makeshift bandage and it started coming off. It eventually got hit a few times, which caused some pain. There wasn't any tearing but it still stung. I taped it up better and continued.

The following 3 classes I did the same thing. After those though, I left the tape off and just rolled with it in. I made sure I protected it and it never got hurt. This helped me to better my defenses towards my left eye and make me more aware of my opponent.

The first day I took out the CBR was at a tournament 5 weeks after the piercing. I put in the curved barbell until my match was up and placed it in a cup of piercing disinfectant. After my 2 matches were over and I got 2nd place... I put the bar bell back in.

I also forgot to mention, my team mates didn't like the piercing. It kind of scared them to roll with me, which was another advantage I think.

Right now I have a curved stainless steel barbell with blue balls on it and I take it out before practice and put it back in afterwards. My boss got a kick out of the "blue balls" though. She didn't quite like the black or the red ones and I had to agree. My favorite ones are the blues.

I didn't have any problems with my piercing. Nothing went wrong with it and I didn't have any infection what so ever. Nothing migrated and my body didn't reject it.

I am planning on getting my other eye done and also a bridge to help compliment them. Who knows, I know that my brow isn't the last one I will get.

Since my piercing I have met with the piercing studios owner, Gene. I have since been interested in becoming a piercer myself. Doing the research and reading as much as I could before hand. I have spent a lot of hours here looking at different piercings as well as reading up on articles.

He said he would be willing to apprentice me and all I need do is fill out some paperwork (non-competitive agreement and a few others) and so fourth and it won't be any trouble. He also stated that he doesn't need anyone to work for him at this time either. His shops are all employed and if anything comes open he would consider me. I told him cool, and said that I already had a day job and wanted to do this part time. Like if one of his piercers needed a vacation or if a special need arose. We spoke for a little over an hour and i felt more confident that this was something I wanted to do.

There was another obstacle though, my day job. It conflicted with the hours he would need to train me. I haven't came up with a solution yet, but I think I will try to take some vacation time for the 12 hours a week needed. It will also be another 4 hours on Saturday, but won't need to use vacation time to cover it. Whatever the case i have my heart set on learning to pierce.
