Piercings have always appealed to me. Like every other girl I wanted my ears and bellybutton pierced. So when I was eight I got my ears pierced with yeah an ear piercing gun. I thought that would hurt but it didn't. I was actually laughing. Those got horribly infected and after that I saw some model or celebrity with a bellybutton ring and I wanted one. I never asked my Mom but sometime last year I asked for an eyebrow ring a couple months later I got one. I had to take that out because one day in November I decided to take out the barbell and it wouldn't go back in. I ended up with blood and tears streaming down my face after struggling trying to get it back in. Enough about failed piercings...
December/January
I asked my Mom if I could get my eyebrow pierced and she said I could 'cause I survived the first one. We went away for Christmas and she said I could get it done when we got back. When we got back we phoned the guy who did my eyebrow ring and the phone was out of service. He moved. I was extremely pissed 'cause that was the closest place to get a professional piercing if you live in Alert Bay. My Mom really didn't seem to care. I asked my Mom everyday when we could go to Courtenay to get my eyebrow pierced. She kept saying "we'll talk about it another time." I was having other problems with her so this to be more punishment. I kept coming home late and then I started coming home early and asking her about my eyebrow. At the end of January she said we could go her next pay day- February 13th. I tried phoning Needles Ink but it said the number was out of service. I knew Needles Ink was still there because my friend Kat got her nose pierced there in mid January.
February 14th
We drove from Campbell River to Courtenay and went straight to Needles Ink. They didn't have CBRs and holy fuck I was pissed. This guy named Shannon with three eyebrow rings and star tattoos on his ears said we could come back on Tuesday when their CBRs would be there. I live in Courtenay or really close so this was a problem. Shannon said we could bring in CBRs from somewhere else and they could sterilize them but the secretary lady said no. That made me even more fucken pissed. I knew you don't need ID at Needles Ink so I didn't bring ID. My whole wallet was in my Mom's van and we drove to Courtenay in my auntie's car. I cry when I'm really pissed off so I started crying on the way back to Campbell River...
March 13th
First day of spring break. I wake up and eat some waffles my aunty Lorna made. Yum. I phone Needles Ink and say I'll be in with my friend Manda in about an hour. By the way, Manda was getting her eyebrow and lip pierced. We leave Campbell River at about noon I think and drove to Courtenay and again straight to Needles Ink. My aunty, Manda and I walk in and tell the secretary lady I want my eyebrow and Manda wants her lip pierced. I sign some form and my aunty signs. Same with Manda. My aunty didn't want to watch so she left Needles Ink. We go into the piercing room and I remember Cory said Tyrel, his best friend is a piercer at Needles Ink . I ask him if he's Tyrel and he said he's "Jack". Then he asked how I knew his name was Tyrel. Then Tyrel continued talking about funny things while he cleaned my eyebrow. Then he made the dots and I checked and said it was good. Manda said I looked like an idiot swinging my legs... Tyrel put on the clamps and that pinched a little. He s hoved the needle through my eyebrow after telling me to breath in. Tyrel put in the CBR and adjusted it then put on the bead. It bled a little and he cleaned that up. A guy who was Tyrel's friend walked in with some pop and watched Manda get her lip pierced. He kept looking at my eyebrow. I think he was trying to figure out if it was fresh or not. Manda got her lip pierced and we paid the lady. Pop man left to go get more pop after Tyrel changed his lip ring to a stud.
I realized I had enough money for another eyebrow ring so what'd I do? I told the lady I wanted another eyebrow ring after about 10 minutes. My aunty came back and signed the form again for me and Manda. These girls who got there right after I got my eyebrow ring got their bellybuttons and tongues pierced. Pop man came back with more pop. After them it was mine and Manda's turns again. Yay. We walked into the piercing room again and I told Tyrel what I wanted. He looked at me weird when I said I wanted it on the same eyebrow as the one I just got. He said it was going to hurt a lot more then the first one. I wasn't really thinking. At the time I was more of an idiot and I asked why it was going to hurt more. I started laughing and so did Manda and pop man. Tyrel cleaned my eyebrow and asked where I wanted it. It didn't really matter so I said you choose. Tyrel then said something about six eyebrow rings if I let him choose. He put some dots and clamps on and shoved the need le through. I said ouch and Manda and pop man once again laughed at me. Tyrel was having trouble getting the bead on 'cause the CBRs were so close together. He got it on though. I was extremely happy. Manda got her eyebrow pierced and I didn't notice 'cause I was talking to pop man. Shannon came in pointed at my eyebrow and said "that's why I had to get four!" We paid again and left. When we got to Campbell River we bought some alcohol free mouthwash for Manda and some Hibitane for my eyebrow.
I clean my eyebrow twice a day with the Hibitane and then do a sea salt soak. It's not swollen. It only was for half an hour the first day. There's no bleeding or bruising at all. The first night I took some Advil for the pain. Advil tastes like sugar... Right now my eyebrow is healing well. I ran into the guy who pierced my eyebrow the first time in Courtenay and I told him I just got it pierced. He said "Oh...ouch...you freak!!!" That was funny 'cause he was just joking obviously. Cleaning eyebrow piercings is easy. It doesn't hurt. Just a pinch and pressure. They tend to reject though so don't get too attached. Piercings make me feel better about myself. I think they make me look better. They also make me stand out here. r Not many people here have piercings. A few have eyebrow rings but not double eyebrow rings. Get an eyebrow ring or any other piercing for you, not just because your best friend has it or "it looks cute". If you live in Courtenay or near Courtenay I say go to Needles Ink.
