I can remember, as long as I have been into piercings I have thought that Bridge piercings were really cool. Hell, before I had any piercings at all I thought bridge piercings were cool. However, I wear glasses. I wear my glasses all the time and I can't see anything at all with out them. I've always decided against getting my bridge pierced because I thought that it would get in the way of my glasses. I now have a Job that wouldn't allow me to have a piercing there, Actually my job won't let me have any piercings on my face, but that's beside the point.

When you live with a piercer its easy to decide in a minute that you want a piercing, and half an hour later you're getting it. Brian and I were sitting around talking, and he mentioned that he'd like some more experience piercing bridges. I'm just thinking to myself that He could pierce mine, he'd get the experience and I would get to see what it looked like on me. I'd finally know if it would be in the way of my glasses or not. So I told him he could pierce mine, Id wear it for a day or two, and then take it out. If I kept it in until Monday, my boss would likely have a great big heart attack, so it was just going to be temporary. Sounds like a good deal to me, so off we go.

I sit down in the chair like always, and Brian lays all his tools out on his tray. Usually at this point in the piercing process, I'm pretty nervous. I figure this cant hurt any worse than an eyebrow piercing and I've had four of those, so that helps me calm down. Brian marks me all up. I look in the mirror to see if its right where it should be. Of course it is, he's pretty good at getting things in the right place the first time. So he gets the clamps out. In between your eyes is a hard area to clamp, because while getting clamps attached to my face I usually scrunch up my eyebrows. It was hard to sit really still and totally expressionless, because the clamps were a bit tight, and the pinching there was awkward, and almost just made me want to laugh. But I made it through it, with out making too many weird faces, and with out talking too much.

Brian turns around to get the needle and I take a few deep breaths and we're ready to pierce. He tells me "Deep breath in" and I take in a deep breath. Then he tells me "Let it out". And while I'm breathing out, he slides the need through and pierces me. I've been pierced several times, in so many different spots on my body. This is the most painless piercing I think I have ever had. It hurt way less than my eyebrows did, and really wasn't all that painful at all. Brian corked the needle, got the jewelry and slid it through. Still no pain, how exciting for me. He screwed on the balls and handed me the mirror. The balls were bigger than I had expected them to be (should have looked at the jewelry BEFORE hand, but no big deal).

So I have this new piercing, and I need to put on my glasses so I can see it more clearly, and they bang and bump into it. I really have no other comfortable place to rest them then the exact spot I'm pierced. While I'm trying to find some way to wear them both comfortably, I bang around the piercing too much and it starts to bleed. It doesn't bleed a lot, but it didn't bleed when it was pierced so I figured I should leave it alone. I just wore my glasses down a little lower.

I wore the piercing for a few hours, I didn't really like how it looked on me. After all that time wanting it, I was pretty disappointed that it didn't really fit well with my face. A few hours later, I was trying to watch TV, and I couldn't get my glasses to sit comfortably, so I just took it out. As soon as the jewelry slid out it began to bleed, and it bled all the way down to my mouth before I got to the bathroom to get something to clean it with.

Today (that was two days ago) I just have a small bruise where the jewelry was, but I don't think it will leave much of a scar. So much for a piercing that I wanted so badly for so long. Work wouldn't have liked it all that much anyway.
