I got my eyebrow pierced almost four years ago. I shopped around for the best price, and not to mention the best reputation for piercing. It wasn't that easy living in a city where most shops are hidden and it was considered taboo because the "happy people" hadn't taken to piercing yet. I wanted to get it done, and done right. I was willing to take care of it, and I was even willing to pay for it. I told my mom that I was thinking about getting it done, expecting the normal yelling from almost every 15-year-old mom, and she was okay with it. I got scared; I knew that eventually I was going to get a lecture of some kind on it. But I didn't. I told her a few weeks later that for my birthday I would like to go to Ozz Fest, and she gave me a choice, she said I could either go to Ozz Fest, or I could get my eyebrow pierced, they both cost the same, so I figured Ozzy would be there next year and decided to get my eyebrow done. It was really cool because she told me that a s long as I found a place, the cost, what I wanted to get it pierced with, and learned how to take care of it, she would pay to get it done, one piece of jewelry (not including what it was pierced with), and the cleaning solution. So I did all that, and found Earth's Edge, it had a great reputation, a wonderful staff, and they even let me watch a few piercings so that I wouldn't be scared and I knew what I was getting my self into. They gave me all the info my mom told me to get and without any problems. So we set up a date, it was July 16 2000.

It was fun because I was going to be the first one of any of us to get a body piercing, I mean sure we had are ears pierced, but I was getting something different. I was so excited.
My mom and I signed all the paper work, and then they took us into the back room. I sat down and tried to get comfy. Now it was kind of hard for me, I hate needles, and I saw all of them sitting on the little table beside of me. So I was freaking out about that, but I remembered what I saw a few weeks earlier and that helped me calm down. The one thing I hadn't thought about was what side I wanted it on, so I randomly spit out left. I know that's not exactly something you just want to blurt out, but I was trying to focus on being calm.
Byron told me to close my eyes and breath. The next thing I feel is this needle swinging back and forth on my eyelid, it kind of tickled. Then it wasn't there anymore and he said I was done. He handed me a mirror and there it was, an 18 G teal hoop stuck in my eyebrow. I loved it. I was so excited. My mom even told me she liked it and thought it looked good. So I went out there to see my friends, they were happy for me that I finally got it done. Byron told me that I needed to keep it clean with an anti-bacterial soap, gave me another info packet, and I was on my way.
My mom, my sister Nikki and my friend Dana and I went to Hot Topic in Hanes Mall and bought me my first piece of jewelry. I got a 16G silver double tipped spike. And then we went to go get the cleaning solution. I bought your ordinary hand soap. Big mistake. I learned that almost all hand soaps have perfume in them that can irritate your piercing and can cause infection. So I decided to use Dawn dishwashing liquid soap. It worked great! And since I got my eyebrow pierced with a ring, it was easier to clean. Now true I was 15, and I didn't clean it everyday like I supposed to, but I never missed more than one day. Which was evidently enough for it to get infected a little bit, but I would use Dawn to wash my ring and my brow, and in less than a day it would clear up and I would continue taking care of it. I never recommend getting your eyebrow pierced with a bar. It's too hard to keep clean, and it can get infected real easy; it can even cause trouble with healing . So even if you like the bar, just wait till after your piercing is healed and then go buy you one.
So now I'm at a 14G, I didn't want to stretch any bigger, it's looks funny in my opinion when you do. It's black and it's a ring, although I have a feeling that will change, I seem to have a thing for the eyebrow spikes.
I want more, and I'm saving up money for them. I know I'm going to go back to Earth's Edge. I'm just not sure which ones I want. But I have to thank my mom for getting me started and supporting me and teaching me to make sure I get a pro to do it so that I don't end up with a nasty infection and or a scar.
I'll let you know when and what ever I get done next so look out for me.
