After somehow convincing my mom into letting me get my eyebrow pierced, I started research. I stumbled upon this site, Bmezine.com, and read through a bunch of the different stories. I read some horror stories of how the piercing didn't go right, how their brow was infected afterwards, and other things that made me not want to get my eyebrow pierced. I finally decided that I should go for it (as soon as possible too, since my mom can easily change her mind) My mom talked it over with my dad (who absolutely hates piercings of any kind especially if you are male, like I am) and he said no, but my mom brought me anyways.

The original agreement from my parents was that they wouldn't bring me to get it done and I had to self pierce myself (DO NOT TRY! It was very stupid of me to try! They thought that I wouldn't have the courage to do that) So I jumped at that and attempted several times using the largest needle I could find (which is only big enough for a ear piercing). I would push the needle in, and wasn't able to get it through, I tried a few times and went down to my mom for her help. I still had the needle hanging out of my brow and she got quite the shock. She tried and tried and gave up. Luckily I didn't get an infection from that, but she did agree that she would take me to get it professionally done.

I went to 'Forever Yours Tattoo and Body Piercings". I went at Noon on a Tuesday so there wouldn't be many people there (which there wasn't). We looked at the display case of different piercings and different jewelry. Then 3 teenagers walked in, they were obliviously stoned (yes, at noon) and wanted a tattoo, but didn't have any money, so they were quickly escorted out. I continued to look around waiting nervously. I looked at the tattoo artists piercings, they had stretched ears, and middle eyebrow piercings. I thought the eyebrow ones looked really cool on him, so I was getting excited (yet still very nervous). The piercer eventually arrived and I said I wanted my eyebrow pierced, she made comments on how good it would look, and showed me a few different pieced I could use.

I decided on a 14 Gauge Banana Barbell, which cost about $30. She brought me into the piercing room, which was very clean and had a doctor's table in it. She had the piece soaking in some sort of chemical, then dumped it into another chemical, and then one more chemical and let it soak for a while. She asked me where I wanted it, and I said far left of the left eyebrow. She cleaned me up, put on gloves marked the area. Washed up again, put on new gloves, opened up the seal clamp and needle, then re cleaned me.

She told me what she was going to do, and then I got nervous. I laid down on the table and started to take deep breaths as directed. She clamped my eyebrow and moved around the skin to where she wanted it. I have heard from many people that the clamp hurts, but I thought the clamp was pretty comfortable. She told me not to look at the needle and to close my eyes. She said "ONE" as I took a deep breath in and then said "TWO" as I exhaled and pushed the needle through. I honestly didn't think she had pierced me until she said she was putting in the barbell.

Putting in the barbell is what hurt most, but it wasn't much of a pain. I stood up, she asked me if I was light headed, but I wasn't so I paid (about $65 with Jewelry) and left. Once we left it started to hurt. It was a mild pain, but enough to bother me. We stopped at Taco Bell and I was happy to show off the new piercing, getting glares from people (which I thought was really fun!). It hurt for about 2 hours after I got it done, and then just stung if I touched it. I used a lot of salt water and that seemed to make it heal really fast. I was told it would be 4-6 months before it would heal, but 2 weeks after I got it done, it was perfectly healed and I could switch jewelry.

I then changed my 14 Gauge piece to a 16 gauge piece that I had previously bought. I then attempted to switch back to the 14g, but I didn't have the guts to switch back. All in all I am very glad I got it pierced, it looks great and there was barely any pain involved! If you are thinking of getting an eyebrow piercing, all I can say is go for it! Just make sure you go somewhere clean, and trustworthy.
