It all started about a year ago. I had noticed that a lot of my cousins had a lot of piercings. One had her nose done and her friend had his bridge done. I soon got hooked on body piercing. Well, around May '03 I began discussing getting a piercing with my friends and parents. My friends thought it was weird because we all went to school in a small town with about 200 people in it and the only piercings we had there was the girls' ears. My parents first thoughts, were, of course, No! But I did a lot of research and explained to them that I really wanted this. I also had quite long, shaggy hair then that my parents HATED, so I reasoned with them. My dad said that if I got my hair cut, I could get a piercing. I quickly agreed. But, my mom, I decided I wanted to come with me (cause Dad's kinda touchy on the subject), kept stalling on me. Plus, she got off work at 4:30 and the parlor closed at 5:00.

So, finally, mom called me up from work one morning before school and told me she was going to pick me up at a friends house after school and we where going to get me pierced. I was so excited. I told all my friends about it at school that day and they thought it was pretty cool. So, at about 4:00, (Mom got off work early just for me J), my mom picked me up at my friends house and I also took two of my best friends along to watch with me. We got to the parlor in ten minutes, and I have to tell you, I was not that nervous at all. When I stepped into the very clean building on Main Street, I smiled. Not only was Tina a body piercer, she was also a tattooist! The walls where covered in tattoo art! She walked into the room and smiled. "Whose the guinea pig today?" she asked cheerfully. I smiled and put up my hand. She handed me a sheet that my mom and me worked on, you know, my age and stuff like that. Then she asked if I wanted a barbell or ring and I said barbell. My friends and I looked at the wall art while we waited for her to get ready. Some of the stuff she had done was pretty cool. Now I want a tattoo!

So, she comes and tells me to sit in her chair, so I do. She puts on clean gloves and explains to me the procedure. Then she wipes down my eyebrow and marks the two dots. They where perfect. She then tells me to sit back and relax, to breathe deep. Then she puts the clamp on. Let me tell you, I did not even feel it! Serious, I don't know how a clamp could hurt. Anyways, she tells me to close my eyes. Then I take a deep breath and I feel a light pinch as the needle goes through. Didn't hurt a bit. I could my friend whisper, "Aww, that is disgusting!", I guess because there was a huge needle hanging from my face and my eyebrow gave a twitch. So, she puts the curved barbell in, cleans me up and says "Done!" I get up and look in the mirror. It looks awesome. At school the next day, I had a lot of people ask if it hurt and why would I do that to myself, I just told them to piss off. I also had a lot of admirers, I was the only person probably in the past 2 decades with a facial piercing in the school! The teachers where really cool about, they didn't pester me about it. But they did make jokes about it! For eg.: "I like it, now if I ever need a toothpick your right there!" Whatever. My mom and dad thought it looked alrite, but mom said she thought I would look better with a ring. Well I tried a heavy ring one day and...well, its explained below. I'm going to get a smaller, lighter ring for sure, cause it looks awesome! Or I may just replace my boring silver beads with something cool.

Ok, now for the "problems and such about the piercing" It throbbed a bit for a few days after and I cleaned it three times a day with anti bacterial soap. I've had it for almost 3 months now and its awesome. It healed pretty quickly and a lot of my friends thought it was cool. The only problem was, that when I went to Ontario with one of my friends (the same one who watched me get pierced), I bought this ring in Winnipeg and when I got back a half a month later, I had my cousin, who is big on piercings, put it in. It was too big and heavy and it swung around a lot, and it hurt like hell. I had it in for 1 night, the next day I had my cousin replace the barbell. That was the worst night of my life! I didn't get any sleep at all! And my cousin almost didn't get the barbell back in because it was so irritated. But everything is fine now. I'm thinking about putting my blue spikes back in. If you want to get a eyebrow piercing, go for it. It doesn't hurt at all and its pretty co ol too. I want to get my bridge done next! Thanks for reading!
