It always seems to me that I decide to get a piercing and that day I have to do it. Otherwise, all I can do is think about it.I had decided that day to go ahead and get my eyebrow done. I left work and walked up the street. (Adorned was kind of far from the main area of 17th avenue at this time) I had talked to Rick on the phone earlier that day. I had heard from a lot of people that he was the best in the city, so after a bad experience at a different place I decided to go see him.

The first impression I got was that the place was so pristine and sterile looking. Seeing the pictures he had hanging and from the style he seemed to have that piercing was more of a tribal experience for him. Which I really like. A lot of other piercers in the city seem to care only about the money and the seeming status being a piercer seems to give them. I told him I would like a small barbell. He picked one out for me and told me that small jewelery would look better on my face than something larger. I agreed with him. Rick asked me to lie on the table and he made some markings. He asked if I wanted to look but I said I trusted him. When I had first walked in I was nervous because this was a new person adding joy to my face, he had made me so comfortable that I decided to let him go about it how he wanted to.He felt around the tissue to see where everything was. I have NEVER had a piercer do this.He then told me he didn't like using clamps. Yay!I never enjoyed the clamp part and I feel somehow that they take away from the whole experience. He also told me that the steel in the jewelery was implant grade steel and not food grade steel which he said most piercers use but they won't tell you that. Interesting.

Any how, after he felt around and made the markings, he cleaned everything and proceeded with the piercing. He made it a much more exhilarating experience than any other piercer had made it and without the clamps, It hurt less. After all that I got to look at it. I was right in trusting him. The placement was perfect and the jewelery was a really good size for my face. I did notice that he changed his gloves numerous times throughout the procedure. He then went over aftercare and I was happy when he suggested I use lavender soap to clean my new piercing. I was glad about that. Bactine and similar things just irritate the hell out of my skin and it takes so much longer to heal. I thanked him profusely and paid. his prices were reasonable some of the places I had called were more expensive and I don't think they would have made it quite the experience that Rick did.

I left the shop and walked up the street to go buy the lavender soap he had suggested. There was a small health food store about a block away from Adorned. I went in there to buy soap and the lady there asked what piercing I had got when she saw what I was I was purchasing. I showed her my eyebrow and she said it was cute. This lady must make a killing in lavender soap. I left and made my way home. It throbbed a bit but after that there was no pain. This was the best healed piercing I have had. It barely took any time at all and had less lymph crusties on it than any of the other ones. If you happen to be in the area go get something done by him. The guys been doing it for 15 years. I've heard he's really honest too which was my experience as well as some others I know. Someone told me if he thinks a piercing will look ridiculous on someone he won't do it. Whether this is true or not I don't know, but you have to like the honesty. Too many people are walking around with so mething silly on their face. Just like I know I would look stupid with a large hunk of jewelery hanging off me.

Oh yeah, the shop has moved now. It's still on 17th Avenue but it's in with Eternal Images tattoos now. A good move I think. Well anyway I'm planning on getting a Monroe soon since I've had my labret for years and it just recently fell out on the train. I've left it since then. I think it's an omen, and I'll almost certainly be going back to Rick for this one.
