Yep, another eyebrow piercing story. I know I know, its like most of the rest. But I do promise to tell the truth about what really happened to me.
Okay. So im 13, and I've been wanting one of these for a pretty long time. My mom always refused with no. She did, however, say I could get a tattoo. So we scheduled one for me, and I was to get it.
I started to get cold feet on the whole tattoo thing, and I explained it would be better for me to get a piercing, in my opinion. She agreed, surprisingly. I asked for my lower navel since I already have the top. She said that was fine, so I asked for my nose. She agreed to that too, and so since I was on a roll, I just shot for the eyebrow. She said we'd go in the next day to Dead Rock Star (where I got my navel and planned to get anything else) and see! I was excited beyond utter belief. I decided Id go in the next day after school and do the deed. I told everyone I was getting it done so I knew I couldn't chicken out. I sucked up my pride and went for it. I wasn't nervous at all, but that all changed soon enough. I went to school, after school I rode with my ex boyfriend over to my friend's house, waited there for my ride (which was my aunt) into town, and then we left, only to discover we'd forgotten my photo ID. Never fear, we went back and got it. Then, we went to Dea d Rock to wait for my mom. She came, and the procedure began.
So, my friend Amanda, my mom, and I went to Dead Rock to look at the eyebrow rings and learn about the procedure. I begged since we were already there if I could get it, and she gave in.I jumped for joy! (With a few odd looks from people watching...oh well. What can you do?) I picked out a purple ring. We waited for an hour, for 2 navels and one lip ring. The lip ring took forever, it seemed! But, finally, I was called back. With my heart racing and my mind keeping up the pace, I went. Now or never.
I wanted Chuck since he did my navel, but a really cool looking guy named Ryan was the one working that day. So, I followed him into the room and braced myself. He went through the usual talk, and you could tell he'd done it hundreds of times from the way he spoke. I listened carefully and then just nodded my approval now and then. He first measured my eyebrow and the ring, and then he marked it. He put a little measuring tool up to it again and I jumped, but he just laughed and explained it wasn't anything to worry about. I looked in the mirror and saw how awesome it looked. I sat back down and he asked if I was ready. I swallowed hard (by this time I was shaking and inside was screaming "DON'T DO IT!" since Im the biggest wimp EVER!) and gave him the go-ahead. He cleaned it and I closed my eyes shut and held onto the sides of the chair. I waited for him and suddenly I felt a sharp jabbing into my eye. I hardly even winced from it, though. I won't say it doesn't hurt, beca use almost anything getting poked through sensitive layers of tissue hurts. It was, though, not even half as bad as I expected. My advice is anticipate a little pain, but don't lose any sleep over it. Its nothing even remotely bad.
If you're wondering the exact pain, its about...hmm...well, girls, it hurts less than your navel! I thought so, anyway. And if you don't know what that feels like, have you ever poked a pin through any part of your skin? Or gotten your ears pierced? Thats what it feels like, but on your eye. It's not even bad! I kept my eyes closed as he put the jewelry in and got everything organized. I looked in the mirror and fell instantly in love. I couldn't wait to just show it off to everyone! When my mom saw it she just kind of shrugged. The lady at the front desk smiled at me and then Ryan mentioned that I was lucky to get it at such a young age. I couldn't help but agree.
Everyone that's seen it thinks it looks kind of cute, but it 'sticks out a lot. Either way I love it. Just be SUPER careful you don't catch it on your clothes or hair or hands or anything! IT HURTS and BLEEDS! If you have any questions or wanna talk, feel free to talk to me!
