Alright here is my story.. My fifteenth Birthday was coming up and a few months before I had gotten interested in piercings. My cousin and a few of my friends had already had some piercings of their own and I thought it was a cool way to express yourself. I just moved to a small town and it's scary how everybody looks the same here! Haha, anyway I decided to get something nobody had around here...my eyebrow! So I researched a lot into it, talked to people who had it done, pictures, procedure, jewellery, everything I could find out.

It took some time to convince my mom but in the end she gave into my whining and I was on my way to my first real body piercing!

I had braces at the time and went into Brandon every six weeks to the Orthodontist anyway, so we agreed that I'd get it done when we went next, which was March 26th of 2002. Woohoo!

We orginaly planned on going to Warlock's in Brandon because my mom had her tattoo done there and thought the guy was really good, but when we got there nobody was in to do my eyebrow piercing. It was really upsetting, and then I remembered Artistic Tattoo was just around the corner, so we ended up going there without an appointment! Luckily Jiggs had time to fit me in really quickly, I couldn't believe it was about to happen! I waited in some chairs with my step-dad while my mom signed the papers. I wanted to go look at the tattoo art but I was too young to go on that side, no fair! age discrimination i tells you.. haha!

But right away Jiggs called me and my mom to the back where I sat down in a dentist like chair, he explained that everything was sterile and showed us the package that my ring came in and the color it turns to when it's been sterilized. He asked what side and I told him my left side, he then wiped my eyebrow with some sterilizing stuff and got everything ready. I asked if it was going to hurt and he pointed to my cartilage which was done with a gun and said it would hurt less then when I got that done. Which actually made me feel better to hear!

He said he was ready to pierce now, and I grabbed a hold of my mom's hand to squeeze the hell out of it. He clamped my eyebrow and started to count.. 1, 2... and in went the needle. It didn't even hurt just felt a lot of pressure. The only part that kind of hurt was when he was putting in the jewelery.

I got up and felt a bit light headed but I looked in the mirror while he explained the aftercare to me. Baciguent on my eyebrow for 2 weeks twice a day, rotating the CBR. At first I thought the piercing looked kind of weird, and I thought it was too big of a ring even though it was a standard 14g, but I eventually got used to it! :D

Okay now here's the funny part, when I went to walk out of the room I couldn't find my mom! I asked my step-dad where she was, and him and another guy waiting for a tattoo pointed to the door, I guess she booked it outside after the piercing was over because she got sick watching! Oh well she said she couldn't handle watching me get a needle stuck in me like that. Crazy.. but she liked how it looked afterwards!

The first week of having my eyebrow piercing I had a purplish bruise right under the piercing pretty much a black eye, it was a different color almost everyday, but it went away I just put some ice on it to help the bruise go away quicker.

In the end I had to take my eyebrow ring out because it was migrating, but I did have it for 8 happy months!

In the summer though I had a job at McDonald's and they wouldn't let me wear it so I had to take it out for each shift and let it fill with that fast food grease (blahk), I somehow don't think it was good thing for my poor little eyebrow!

I was so depressed when I took it out, I didn't expect to get so attached to it! Next month for my 16th Birthday i'm going to get my nose done at Warlock's so we'll see how that goes, and i'll be sure to post it up here.

If you're planning on getting your eyebrow pierced go for it, it doesn't hurt at all, and hopefully you'll have better luck then me with it! And remember," You Were Born An Original, Don't Die A Copy".
