So we'll start with the fact that I had really wanted my tongue done in the first place. Being 17 I had to have my mom sign and stuff like that. Kinda sucks but rules are rules. I had been begging and pleading making bargains and such for her to let my get my tongue done as a type of Christmas present. No, no, no. Darn it...what can I do? So I'm sittin here giving my mom all these facts about piercings and stuff about how it IS safe and what not. She says no, BUT...I'll let you get something pierced as long as it's not your tongue. I didn't know what else I wanted to I asked her. She told me to get my eyebrow. Okay! So there my story begins.

I had my mom call where I was supposed to get it done and ask them some questions about cost and when I should come in. She called and said they were closed. I got shut down. I was so disappointed to the point where I was actually mad. How could she do this to me? Get my hopes up telling me they were open that day and then they weren't. It was cruel I tell you, cruel. My sister came over that day because we were all supposed to go shopping. That plan failed as well. She told me that she had a free piercing at Karma because she had her nose pierced a couple of days earlier and her nose rejected the jewelry or something and got really swollen. She had them take it out and they felt so bad that they told her they would give her a free piercing anywhere she wanted. Well since I would be going with her this would be a good opportunity to go ahead and get my eyebrow done. My mom agreed also. This would be great. My heart went back up again.
So we made the 15-minute drive ((so long I know)) and finally got there. We were greeted by a very nice older woman who worked there. I never got her name though. She introduced us to Jimmy, who would be piercing both my sister and me. He was very nice, long blonde hair that was always in his face, and the most gorgeous blue eyes I had ever seen in my life. My sister tells me he is married though, too bad. I have my mom fill out my paperwork and stuff while we looked around. My 2 other sisters decided tag along with me and my older sister to see what was going on.
With the paperwork finally done Jimmy led my sister and me back to one of the piercing rooms. I voted myself to go first. I wanted to get my eyebrow over and done with before my sister got her nipple pierced. Before I am allowed to sit down Jimmy puts on black gloves and sprays down the counter, walls, inside of the sink, and the chair I was going to be sitting on with this yellowish stuff that smelled kinda gross. But at least everything was clean. I hopped up and sat on the chair. He changed his gloves again and got the pen thing that they make dots with. He asked which side I wanted it on and I told him the right side. Everyone has theirs on the left so I went for the right. Why not? So he made 4 dots and asked which one I liked better. I didn't get it pierced all the way at the end of my eyebrow. I don't really like that. I have it lined up with the end of my eye. He changed his gloves again and we looked at the type of jewelry I wanted. I of course chose a curved barbell. I hate the hoops. He measured it up on my eyebrow and made a couple more marks so that it wouldn't be sticking out or anything. He then took a tray with some kind of lining on it and placed the barbell (which was packaged), the needle (also packaged), some jelly looking stuff, and clamps (coming from a package as well) on it. He changed his gloves again and opened everything. He got the clamps and took forever getting it perfect. It was kind of tight too. He had it just right though. I know for sure because it took him like 10 minutes just to get it at the right spot. So he takes the needle and does the whole breath in and out thing. He told me to take a big breath hold it then exhale. On the exhale the needle went through. Amazing. I'm so glad it didn't hurt. I felt it of course but I can't really classify it as pain. It in a way felt good. After that he put the barbell in which slid right in. Couldn't feel it at all. He finally got the itty-bitty ball on and I was good to go. Telling me all about the aft er care I rushed out to go show my other two sisters. They loved it just as much as I did. I was so happy.
Afterwards wasn't too bad at all. It stung a lot for about 30 minutes after I had it done. But it wasn't bad. I actually slept on it that night. It never really hurt all that badly. I've been cleaning it twice a day with saline solution and anti-bacterial soap when I'm in the shower. I haven't been able to find any sea salt yet but then again I don't really know what I am looking for. It hasn't caused me any trouble yet and none of my other piercings have in the past so I'm not too worried about it. The only problems I have are when I get the darn thing stuck on my shirt trying to take it off or when people like to come and give me huge hugs and slam their heads into mine. Gotta watch out for that. But I would definitely have to say this has been a successful piercing and everyone has seemed to like it so far. I've changed out the silver balls with ones that are purple and white striped with jewels on them. My sisters claim they look like soccer balls, but what d o they matter? I like it and that's all that matters in this world. If you have any questions email me and I'd be happy to give you any advice I've got.
