This is about my first ever piercing experience. I hope maybe that you can relate or even learn something from my experience. If you do not get anything out of this, I'm sorry. I did not think rejection could happen to me, but hey, it was a risk i was willing to take. I still do not fully understand what happened and why mine rejected, but who nows, I cant change it now.
At A Glance Author Valerie When Six months ago Artist ?? Studio Ink Expressions Location Dalton, Georgia When I turned 15, I decided that I wanted to get something pierced. For the longest time, I had wanted my nose pierced but then I kind of down sided that idea and then I had thought about a belly button ring. but everyone had them and i did not want to be just like every body else. So after some long hard thinking. I decided on getting my eyebrow pierced instead. On my right eyebrow.
So after I asked my parents and they said no. :( I was sad. I looked online and found BME. I read up on eyebrow piercings and I found out everything I could. Since my mom is easy to convince, I started in on her first. Finally after about a week of long conversations, she said yes. Then after about two or three days, she talked my dad into it. We went and looked around everywhere.Tattoo shop after tattoo shop after tattoo shop. Finally we decided on Ink Expressions. It was clean, and there were nice people, and they were highly re-commended.
That following Saturday mom decided we were going.so, My mom, my best-friend, and I headed to Ink Expressions. When we got there, we had to fill out papers and then pick out jewelry ( a very long process indeed, not really, but it seemed like it).I was very very very nervous. The piercer never told me his name but a bunch of people re-commended him even if he did tell me his name I probably would've never remembered it. He told to me to go sit in the chair i went and sat in the chair. He put on gloves and I saw him open everything. He was making jokes trying to get me less nervous, but by then I was not nervous, but very anxious. He showed me the needle and told me to take a deep breathe and POKE! When he put the jewelry in, that hurt a little itsy bitsy bit. I was so amazed though, at the whole fact that it did not hurt hardly at all.wow! People totally exaggerate the pain a great deal.the piercer was very professional about everything. He was also really really nice a nd real cute! not that it matters, but hey it was a plus.
The whole piercing proceed took about a whole 15 seconds, and then I had my eyebrow pierced. It was gorgeous and completely painless. I fell totally in love with it. :) After, on the way home, it started to hurt a little, but nothing big, mom gave me some headache medicine though. All my friends loved it! They're all wanting theirs done now. I followed all the cleaning procedures, I did the salt soaks and I was it w/ soap I did not play with it or anything so it healed nicely. I loved having people look at me, it was so awesome.
When school started, since they do not allow piercings, I had to wear a retainer. I tried to keep a bunch of people from knowing about it, but when you are the only person in school with it, word gets around. you could barely see it,but one day I guess it caught the light or something and the principal saw it and told me to take it out, I took it out, but as soon as i got to class I put it back in. those suckers :). that was the only time i got in trouble for it.
Things went great after that then after a couple months, it had healed greatly. but i guess be cause i had to change it for school all the time, it started rejecting. :( It got smaller and smaller and smaller, finally I just decided to take it out. Now I have an ugly little scar, but hey that was the risk I was willing to take, you know? A lot of people that have piercing asks what happened to mine and I tell them it rejected. and they ask 'rejected?' They do not know what it is, I think everyone should know of the risks before jumping into something.
Now my parents say I cant have anything else done, but little do they know, i'm thinking of a tattoo.
I recommend anyone who is in Dalton,Ga to go to Ink Expressions. They're great. But I think I'm going to go to somewhere else for my next mod.
