I don't know what it is with me and body piercing but I am totally in love with it. I am going to try and stay on the same topic but I will tell you how I first fell in love with piercing. I was just a kid, maybe 10 or 11,and my dad, brother and I went to a Halloween carnival. My dad saw one of his friends there and she had her nose pierced. Piercing parts of your face that were not your ears interested me. I mean it did seem strange to me, but I was fascinated by it. My dad said when I was 13 or 14 I could get something done besides my ears. So in a few years I wanted my nose pierced, and we even went to the piercing place. But we forget ID,and never made it back.

Well in a few months my friend and I were discussing eyebrow piercing. I had thought it over and thought it would be tight. By that time I liked body piercing and went to bme a lot. I did lots of research, read experiences, and tried to learn about it as much as I could. I also learned about ear piercing guns and found out why they were bad for ears. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! Do not get your ears pierced with a gun. Some people are okay with them, but I think they are horrible. I have gotten my ears pierced 3 times in the same spot because every time they got infected. And I took really good care of them too. Guns are just...bad, take my word for it. They also can't be sterilized with an autoclave, which is the only way to kill diseases like hepatitis and HIV on the gun.

Well I wanted a second lobe piercing so decided to go to Body Piercing Unlimited and get them done with a needle. It went well and they haven't gotten infected at all. So after having a good experience with that needle piercing I asked my dad about my eyebrow. He knew I had been researching it a lot and how bad I wanted it. It wasn't too hard to convince him, and seeing my parents are divorced, it was easy to get it. He didn't want to have to put up a fight with me about it and said that it was my face and I could do what I wanted with it. If I had asked my mom it would be a totally different story.

Well since I am only 14, Body Piercing Unlimited wouldn't pierce anything besides my ears, even if my dad signed. I was pissed. So I called around and found this place that would do it. So my dad and I rode bikes there, and I met up with my best friend (she had to be there, otherwise I could never go through with it!).

The place I went to was called Ray's. It wasn't a regular body-piercing studio. They did hair, massages, lot's of stuff. But it wasn't really a salon either. It was this little building, kind of crazy and happy, but professional at the same time, and I liked it. Well downstairs they had a little room with a doctors bed in it, and lots of piercing equipment and supplies. Everything was clean and Jennifer explained the aftercare to me. She was very nice, professional and seemed to know what she was doing. After she explained the aftercare, which I already knew about from bme, I picked out my jewelery. I small 16 gauge barbell. It was perfect.

She sterilized everything with an autoclave first which I was very glad to see. Then she cleaned my eyebrow with betadine, and used gentian violet to mark the entrance and exit holes of the needle. After doing this she changed her gloves, and must of changed them at least 3 times during the whole procedure which I was very happy to see.

I was happy with the placement and then she had me lie down while she clamped my eyebrow. It felt just like a pinch. Next she told me to take a big deep breath and then exhale, and to do it once more. Then she told me to exhale, and while I did she pushed the needle through. I felt a sharp pinch and was relieved to know the needle was in.

Then she put the barbell in while pulling the needle out, but by accident the barbell slipped out. So she had to pierce me all over again. Yea, it did kind of suck having to be pierced twice. And I did have more swelling then I would of normally had, but it was totally worth it! She also said it would take about a week longer to heal since she had to pierce me twice. Then I was done! I was so happy. I love the barbell and was extremely joyful. She gave me a sheet on aftercare and I paid my $60.

I would recommend eyebrow piercing to anyone. They are definitely worth it and they look awesome. I have had mine for about 2 weeks and it's been doing good. Just the normal crusties and it hasn't been red except when I got it done. As long as you take good care of it, you should be fine. Wash it twice a day with dial soap for the first week or so, and then once a day after that. Also for the first week you can apply Bactine on it. It feels really good on fresh piercing, but after the first week stop using it because it can slow the healing process. Sea salt soaks are great too. If u want to speed up the healing process, take zinc and vitamin E. Go get a piercing, its good for you!! Peace.
