Well, I finally got my eyebrow pierced.. YAY! Since I was thirteen I've been wanting to get quite a few different piercings but the urge has always just passed since my parents have been, and still are completely against any type of body modification. When about fourteen I asked if I could get my tongue and ear lobes pierced but they raised hell and didn't even trust me to go anywhere alone for like two months because they thought I'd go behind their backs and do it. However, five months ago I finally turned eighteen, the problem was I had no form of employment at the time so the idea of me getting any type of piercing for the time being was out of the question.

Over the next three months a good friend of mine kept telling me that I should get my eyebrow pierced. I couldn't really picture myself with it for the longest time, but somewhere in that three month time frame I developed a craving for an eyebrow piercing, every time I looked at myself in the mirror I felt like I was really missing something if I didn't get it, it became an obsession for me really to have it done. I started doing a lot of research on BME about eyebrow piercings and decided that it in fact was right for me. I then decided after talking with many people that place to go for this piercing would be Mad Dog Tattoo.

My girlfriend has never really liked body piercings, but about a week ago she offered to pay for me to get my eyebrow pierced as an anniversary present, since I had been wanting it so bad, I think she really just wanted me to shut up about it. :) I inclined to the offer and within twenty minutes we were in the car and on the way to the piercing studio.

It ended up being my girlfriend, both her sisters, and myself, everyone wanted to come laugh at me if it hurt. =P The shop was only about a fifteen minute drive from my house but it felt like an eternity.. the closer we got the more nervous I got. When we finally arrived I walked back and said I wanted to have my left eyebrow pierced, I was then given some paper work which by the time I finished filling out I was completely covered in sweat. So I decided to step outside for a minute while we waited on the piercer to return.

I was finally called back to the area where they do the piercing about fifteen minutes later. I was so nervous at this point that I could barely make into the chair. Then Peter marked two dots on my eyebrow and asked me if it was okay, I at first told him I wanted it a little more centered but he was very friendly and explained to me that the placement of the piercing would change when my facial expressions change if he pierced any further up. We finally agreed on a placement. Then we agreed on a twelve gauge captive bead ring for the initial piercing. I was then told to close my eyes, ten seconds later I felt him shut the clamps. At this point I was getting very nervous. Then he told me to take a deep breath in and he would push the needle in, it didn't hurt, it was a very neat feeling actually feeling it pushing up the skin from the back, then I exhaled and it went out the opposite side. A few seconds later he popped the ball into place on the CBR and it was over.

I couldn't believe it, it was over and completely painless. I immediately paid and tipped him, and then went to the mirror to see my new facial addition. It looked GREAT and everyone there with me liked it as well! It was an experience that I enjoyed a lot and for anyone thinking about an eyebrow piercing I say go for it! I haven't regretted it a bit since then. Yesterday I switched it to a twelve gauge standard curved barbell and it looks wonderful. If you're ever in the Bakersfield area and itching for a piercing or tattoo I'd definitely lookup Mad Dog Tattoo. I am going back tomorrow with a friend of mine to get my labret and possibly my tongue pierced. I'm hoping Peter will be able to do the piercing for me, but my friend has been pierced by the other two piercers there and said they were also great, so I'm very much so convinced that I will be getting the rest of my body modification done there. I'm hoping by November to have my septum and nipples done as well.
