Over the past year I have gotten my lip, eyebrow and smiley pierced and have started stretching my ears. And after about a month of going without any new piercings I decided I wanted...no actually I needed a new piercing. I've always like bridge piercings, so it was just a matter of convincing my mom at this point. Being that I'm 17. That wasn't hard though after some begging and some crying she said yes.

So my mom said she would pick up a notary saying I could get pierced that afternoon on her way home from work. When she got home though I found out that the notary was closed. So I couldn't get pierced that day. So my mom picked it up the next day, but I couldn't find anyone to go with me of course. But the next night I was bored and my friend and I decided to go get it done. She's afraid of needles though and wouldn't go in the room with me so we meet someone else we knew there so he could come in with me and hold my hand. No matter how many piercings I get, I always get really nervous right before.

So we go in and the piercer has me fill out forms and she photocopies my ID and all the usual stuff. And tells me when I'm ready to go in the back. So I go back there and there's a couple of piercers sitting there and they asked me some questions about my piercings and such and made me feel comfortable. And they were happy cause they said I was getting an interesting piercing instead of the usual navel and eyebrow piercings.

So the girl who pierced me took like 10 minutes to mark my bridge so it would be straight. Then she clamped my bridge and told me to count to 3, on 1 to breath in 2 to breath out and on 3 she would pierce. So I prepared my self and grabbed my friends hand. Then she pierced, as it was going in I was like wow this doesn't hurt at all then it went out the other side. And that fucking hurt. I felt it tear through and I *felt* the pop. Which was gross in itself. But of course I had to say it didn't hurt to everyone else because they were all saying it was one of the most painless piercings. Meanwhile It hurt me the most out of all of mine. It wasn't that bad though.

So I paid, it was 70, which wasn't that bad I guess and I gave the piercer a ten dollar tip(which was all I had on me) and thanked her. Then I went home.

I was more nervous about what my familys reaction to the piercing was gonna be than the actual piercing. The reaction I got was actually a lot worse than I expected. I walked in with my hood up and tried to go straight to my room, but no my mom wanted to see right away. She saw and said I looked scary and she looked complety disgusted by me. Then my grandma saw it. She left the room without saying anything at all and then proceeded to spend the next hour crying hysterically. So I was just like fuck it and wanted to sleep cause my head hurt really really badly and the whole area around my piercing was starting to swell up. So I got some water and took aspirin and on the way back to my room I found myself passed out on the floor. I was so dizzy and just from stress and everything I guess that was why I did. So after that I just got up and went to sleep and when I woke up my head didn't hurt and it wasn't swollen anymore.

It was crusty for about a week after. But I found it to be the easiest to heal and clean. It seems that it's more healed than my eyebrow ring which I've had for almost 3 months. It doesn't hurt at all anymore. I have to change the jewelry though cause the barbells too long(to accommodate for the swelling). But other than that it's straight and I really like it. It looked kinda crooked when I got it done but I guess it kinda fixed itself. I've gotten some bad reactions...well mostly bad reactions actually. But I love it and wouldn't change having it for anything. And the pain wasn't too bad, so If you want it you should definitely get it. It's kind uncommon still, but it looks really cool on most people. Next hopefully I'll be getting ear work done, and I also want my lip pierced twice more and my septum. I'll be 18 in about 6 months though so it's not much longer...since I really doubt that my mother will let me get any more piercings.
