If there was a word that I could use to describe myself I would probably pick "Stupid." My reasoning behind this is I tend to think I know it all when it comes to certain things, and nothing bad can happen to me.

Being in my early stages of starting into body modification...I'm still like a child in a candy shop. Being very immature about the proper manner of doing my piercing's...I've chosen to do a few of them myself. With doing so the thought "What would doing another hurt" ran through my mind numerous times. One morning not being able to sleep...I was looking around BME thinking to myself that a second eyebrow piercing would flatter the original so much more. That really is all it took to convince me that I was going to do it. Of course I didn't stop to think...As I don't as often as I should. So I'm running around the house looking for your run of the line sewing needle. After searching everywhere in my home I couldn't find one at the time. However I did find a safety pin, which is what I had used with my other self piercing's so I figured it would work.
Grabbing a lighter, some rubbing alcohol, and a CBR... I was almost ready to start on my newest piercing. I soaked my CBR in the rubbing alcohol for about 10 minutes, and burnt the surface of all of the safety pin that could possibly enter my skin. After doing so I also scrubbed it down with the rubbing alcohol. Trying to be as clean as I possibly could be. Taking my CBR out of the alcohol I placed it on a clean wash cloth next to the safety pin...So I could have easy access to it. Cleaning my eyebrow with antibacterial soap just to be safe, and then alcohol...It was now my time to play piercer. Holding my eyebrow firmly I began to trying to stick the safety pin threw the bottom. With a firm push it entered the skin. Now the fun part of getting it to come threw the top was ahead of me. As I pressed hard on the end of the pin it moved up further, and finally I got it to the point where I could see the head of pin under the surface of the skin where I wanted the other hole to be. With my final firm push the pin poked out.
Knowing the task wasn't over yet...I didn't become excited at that point. Now I had to put a 14 gauge CBR into a hole that is about at an 18 gauge. I knew that once I got it threw one hole popping it threw the other wouldn't OR shouldn't be hard. Started at the bottom once again. I began trying to press the CBR threw. It took me about a half-hour till I got it to go in by tearing some skin off around the hole. At this point I was almost done. Grabbing onto the ring once again, and squeezing my eyebrow together I began trying to push it threw the top hole. It wasn't exactly as easy as I remembered from my previous eyebrow experience. After pushing it with a bit of force I had finally gotten it threw. I snapped the ball on to the CBR. I then cleaned my fresh piercing with antibacterial soap and hydrogen peroxide...And put some triple antibacterial ointment on it.
On the days that followed I continued to clean it with the antibacterial soap, and switched over to sea salt in diluted water about twice a day, or when I thought the piercing was in need of a cleaning. As of now I've had my second eyebrow piercing for about a month. It's doing better than it should be considering the way it was done. There hasn't been any signs of infection that I've noticed, and it seems to be healing nicely.
I by no means would recommend someone to follow in my footsteps of piercing yourself as I did. Just sometimes there is no one home upstairs for myself, and I have no clue what the word "Patience" means. With the experiences I've had with Studio's doing my piercing's...and then the experiences I've had with doing my own. I would much rather go get it done by a professional. It's not as painful, and at least they know what they're doing, and if your like myself you probably have not the slightest idea. Not to mention the risk of infection goes down greatly. Using a lighter to sterilize kills some germs but not most. The risk of many diseases is still there no matter how clean you think you are with everything. I'm just to dumb to remind myself of that. If the thought of doing your own piercing pops in your head please think of everything that could come from such an ignorant decision, and just pay to get it done by the professional's. In the long run it's worth it.
