Well, this is my second or third time trying to write about a piercing, let us see if this one makes it through the system, shall we?

For the longest time, I had wanted to get my tongue pierced, and for the longest time, I had also been bothering my mother, trying to get her to agree to this type of piercing. She went through the list of reasons not to get it. I, being the smart-ass kid I am, countered with a mass of information from BME. Still, no go. One night about a week ago, I offered this compromise: "Mom, if you take me to get my eyebrow pierced again, and WATCH it get done, i wont mention a tongue piercing until i move out." she looked at me, thanked me for at least trying to compromise on the situation and agreed.

The very next day, we were out shopping for books, and she suddenly asked me where the piercing shop was. I told her, not really thinking that she was serious about taking me. Immediately she turned the car around and headed toward the studio. "Great" I thought "I'm not sure if I'm ready for this" Luckily we had just gotten ourselves a nice large breakfast so I wouldn't be fainting later on. Lo and Behold, Twenty minutes later we were pulling into the parking lot of the studio, where Rob, one of the brilliant artists at Wonderland, immediately greeted me, and demanded to know what I wanted this time, and he called me a blue haired troublemaker. I laughed, told him what I wanted, and walked into the shop where he gave me the usual forms to fill out, and then walked into the back to announce my presence to the entire shop.

Ah, I finally had the dreaded form filled out, and then I started a bit of small talk with James, my artist of choice. He told my mom what a good kid I was (as I had been going in about once a month when I was stretching my ears) and how I'd managed to bring in quite a bit of business for them (my frequent visits added to my bringing a handful and a half of friends along for the ride) And at long last, it was time for me to be poked.

The whole procedure took maybe, 4 minutes at most for my first ring to be taken out, the marks made, the clamps and the piercing. I will say this, My first brow piercing was hardly noticed, the second one, being closer to the middle of the brow was quite a bit more painful than I'd expected. James got the clamps on, and took out the needle. "Okay, on three, okay? One...Two...*STAB*...and you're done"

Meanwhile I was finishing my rather loud exclamation. "BITCH" I cried as the needle stabbed through first the top layer of skin, slid coolly through the meat and popped neatly through the bottom. I quickly looked at my mother to see if she'd heard (of course she'd heard she just didn't say anything, I think people in the next building heard me to be sure)

Next thing I know James is grabbing my head to turn me back toward him to put the bead in the CBR. Giving my hair a dainty pat (this from a rough and tumble biker looking man) he told me I was done, and because I was a "frequent flier" he'd give me a discount. After making sure I was okay to stand up and walk (I'm not sure why he does this anymore, as he called me a freak the last time I stretched my ears from 10g to 6 in one sitting without blanching) I stood up, tested my lightheaded-ness, and walked to the register. Happily I paid the man, while my mother and Rob talked about ...well, I'm not sure what they were chatting about. "See you in a few weeks" James called out as I exited.

Now, about a week later, my piercing is alive and quite well. I've learned, after acquiring many a new hole in my head, that a strict cleaning regimen is not really needed for this sort of piercing, save for a semi-regular sea salt soak, and daily rinsing in the shower. The only problem that I am having, is the first brow piercing, is having all of the sympathy pains, and symptomatic lymphing and puffiness that the new piercing should have. ::sigh:: I've been left to conclude that this piercing is a freak. It likes to act up even when I stretch my ears too severely, and I almost wonder if there is something wrong with it. I know there isn't, but there is still that doubt.

I am always open to questions, and I have been the recipient of 6 total ear piercings, a septum, and two eyebrow piercings, If anyone has questions, or comments, Feel free to reach me at AIM: BurnedMonk

Thanks for your time. ::wink::
