In the year of 1998, at the age of 14, I discovered a world that I had not known. A world that greatly and positively changed my outlook on life as well as my outlook onto other people. I discovered.....
body modification. *heavenly music plays as a light shines down*
Ooooo aahhhh aaahh! Ahem...How I found out about body modification was, one day while I was out wandering around town I saw this Woman who seemed to be 22, with long red dreadlocks down to her hips. As I gazed at her with great admiration, I noticed these shiny sliver loops adorning her lips and septum. I was extremely intrigued, and almost hypnotized by them and such beauty they presented.

After seeing her piercings, my curiosity to learn more about them grew stronger by every passing day. So craving more information on them I turned to the Internet! Through my searching I came a crossed the most wonderful, lovely website, so full of such information! So helpful in oh so many wonderful ways! What is this great wonder of all websites? Why a site called BME!! *kisses ass* As I read through experiences, and looked through the hundreds of pictures, I decided that a piercing was something I wanted to experience. But out of all of the possible piercings to get, which one was I going to experience?
After a few months, I narrowed it down to either my nostril or my eyebrow. After another month of deciding, I chose to go with my eyebrow.

I talked it over with my mom, and explained to her about body modification, and the reasons on why I wanted to have my eyebrow pierced. Surprisingly she agreed to let me get it done. YAY!!! (I thought it was going to take a lot more convincing) So I went looking around at local tattoo/piercing shops, and found one called Crossroads. I went inside asked a few questions, checked the place out. Everyone there seemed to be very friendly and helpful. I wanted to get it done that day, but my mom said I should sleep on it overnight, just to make sure. Not really wanting to, but knew it was for the best, I agreed and we went home. I could barely sleep, I was so excited about getting my eyebrow pierced! Then after a few hours later I went to sleep.

The next day came and I jumped out of bed, got ready and bugged my mom to hurry up!!! ;p We left the house which seemed like forever, and finally arrived at the tattoo/piercing shop. As soon as I walked in the door, my heart began to race, one of the piercers came up to me and asked if I needed any help. I told him I would like to get my eyebrow pierced, he asked me for ID, but I told him I was underage. So he asked my mom to sign some papers, she did. Then I picked out the jewelry I wanted. A 14 gauge curved bar bell. We paid for both the jewelry and piercing, which was about $30 dollars for each. He asked me to have a seat. I walked over to this big brown dentist looking chair and sat down.

That is when my adrenaline started pumping big time. I began to feel somewhat light headed, and in a dream-like state. Nothing quite seemed real. But I did however managed to keep my self from passing out. I took deep breaths and tried to calm my self down. I was just so excited about finally getting it, that my adrenaline was going crazy! The piercer was cleaning all of the tools, he took out a needle from a package, and wiped it with some cleaning solution. Then asked me where it was that I wanted my piercing. I said on my right eyebrow. He then wiped my eyebrow with some cleaning solution then marked it, handed me a mirror and asked if it looked good. I checked it out and said yes.

Then he took the grabber thingies, gripped them on my eyebrow. It didn't hurt like some people say it does, I didn't even feel the grabber on my eyebrow! Then he took the needle and pushed it through. Very little pain, but lots and lots of blood. I felt the blood running down my face onto my hands that were sitting on my lap.
I had the biggest adrenaline rush ever, and thought I was really going to pass out this time. But I didn't! The piercer asked me if I was alright, dazed and happy I said hell yeah! With a huge grin on my face. He told me he wanted me to stay for a little while until the bleeding stopped. Once the bleeding started to stop, he cleaned me up and I was on my way home with my fresh new piercing.

I had, had my eyebrow piercing for about 3 in a half years, when it started to migrate. So I had to take it out. =( Even though I still greatly admire piercings, I have sense grown more towards the art of tattooing, and am working on a tattoo design for my self. Something personal. Something very meaningful. I'm taking my time with it, making sure that everything is perfect before I get it. Like all things involving your body, it should be thought about deeply, making sure it is what you want, knowing all of the consequences and be willing to take them on.

Well thank you for reading about my experience! I hope it was of some help =)
