I'm 34 now and I've wanted to have my eyebrown pierced for about three years. But I did not quite have to nerve to go have it done.

Then one day my nieghbor told me that she and my other nieghbor wanted to have there noses pierced so I told her that I wanted to have my eyebrow done. So one friday night we did it.

We got one of the older kids to watch the rest of the kids and we all piled into my nieghbors mini van. We had some trouble finding the place that had been recommended but we finally did find it.

The tattoo place was pretty empty, there was on guy getting a tattoo done though.

My friend got her nose done first she almost fainted when she found out that it was going to be done with a needle.

Next it was my turn. First I asked the piercer a few questions and picked out my jewlery. I picked a door knocker style straight barbell. It was multi-colored titanium and 16 gauge.

I was not sure the placement so she had the guy who was doing a tattoo stop for a minute and let me see all his eyebrown piercings. The guy had more pieces of metal in his face than I could count. He looked like satan. He was trying to look like Satan. Anyway I saw his 4 eyebrow piercings and decided to have mine placed on the outer third of my eyebrow.

I was escorted to a chair, one of my friends watched but the one who just had her nose done was afriad to look at the needle. The piercer marked my eyebrow with a felt pen and asked if the placement was ok.
It was, so she showed me the bags containing the clamp and the needle and a little line that had changed color to prove to me that it had been autoclaved. I had picked my jewlery out of the display case and I asked her what it was treated with. She said she sprayed some disenfectant on it. I was not real thrilled with that as it was just stored loose under the counter and anyone who wanted to could handle it. But I went ahead with the piercing anyway.

She put the clamp on my eyebrow and put the needle through. It was almost painless. Then she threaded my jewelry in and that stung a little bit.

She told me a was done and charged my credit card and gave me a tiny little care sheet that also had instructions for tattoos.

Then my other friend got her nose done and we all left and went out to dinner.

After I got home I treated it with alternating heat and cold like the after care directions I was given said to. It got bumped a lot while it was healing. At night I would try to brush it of my face when I was half asleep and then wake up in pain. One time before I was fully away I though that I had ripped it right out of my forehead. I ended up putting a bandaid over it at night so I would not grab at the jewlery anymore. After about four weeks of this I realized one day that it had been quite awhile since I had bumped it. I discovered that it was all healed and did not hurt go get bumped anymore so I just was not noticing when I bumped it.

It did heal very nicely and in 4 weeks there was no pain or tenderness so I switched to a stainless steelcurved barbell with "mood stones" on it. That turned out to be a mistake, apparently the balls were not stainless steel and they really irritated my skin and made the piercing start to migrate.

I did not realize how bad it was until I changed my jewlery one day and saw that my skin was being eaten away underneath the barbell. I also had a huge bump near the bottom hole.

I switched it back the the titanium barbell and started cleaning it several times a day. The cyst has gone down a lot and my skin has healed. I not going to use any jewlery that is not titanium in it again.

I took the door knocker loop off my tatanium barbell though, it was getting bumped too much. With just a plain barbell in I find that the jewlery almost never gets bumped.

I love my eyebrow piercing but changing the jewelry is really hard. It's so hard to thread the little balls onto the barbell. I think I will buy an internally threaded barbell if I can find one in 16 gauge. Perhaps I will just leave it alone and never change it too.
