Ok, so I have always loved the thought of having a bridge piercing. I have even pierced it at a 20 for a day, but it was removed due to a fight in gym class (WOW! a double whammy!). So when i got a barbell with long enough length, and at a 14g, i took to prepairing myself to be punctured again!

I cleaned my hands, and put on gloves, and then cleaned the gloves! I then took some alchohol prep pads and cleaned off the sides of my bridge (to clean, remove, and dry up the oils and dirt in my skin) then i marked the holes with my skinscribe pen, and started to shove the needle through. it went through perfectly, i pierced it kind deep and really low (just abouve the bone in your nose), but it was perfect! when i went to follow the needle through with the jewelry, the jewelry didnt quite go right in, so i pulled the needle out with intent to then put the jewlery in, BUT my bridge started gushing blood!i ran to the laundry room and grabbed a handfull of my moms new white rags (thats right i live with my mom) and then started sopping up the blood. i went through three white rags efore it stopped(small rags by the way) after it stopped i had red staind all over my face. so i had to break out those alchohol prep pads again. after the stains were cleaned up, and i sould see again, i went to putting the barbell through my bridge! NOTHING was going to stop me! well, i got the barbell and put it in, starting from the right side...it went in fairly easy, considering everythin that had gone on. when it got through to the last laer of skin on the left side of my bridge, it had a sharp pain! it didnt hurt so much, it was just very disspleasing. I finaly got it through that layer of skin, and screwed on the ball and went along my bussiness.

Later that day I looked in the mirror and noticed black crusties! which ment, of course, that it was bleeding slightly..so i cleaned it off and went to bed, when i woke up there were red stains here and there, but nothing too bad.... after the first three days of that, it was fine! i have gotten lots of lymph out of it from time to time, and once i actually got a little puss...but all that stopped after about 2 weeks....its doing great and looks fine! i have been wearing a 316l SSS barbell with black uv reactive acrylic balls, which are really cool! i have gotten compliments from all of my friends into mods saying it is great and that they will soon be getting one done! im going in for a second bridge as soon as this one heals! i hope this one goes as good as my frist one! (of course minus the bleeding that i had with my first one!)

I Recomend this piercing to anyone who is so much as slightly thinking about it...but from my personal experiance there are some risks that are needed to be known!

1. BLEEDING! - This is a big risk! Once you start bleeding, its hard to stop!

2. SCARS! - If done wrong, this piercing can leav hellacious scars, and when done right, it still leaves a scar on each side, that is actually pretty visable!

3. REACTIONS! - This one is MAJOR! Alot of people have questions, and with this piercing comes alot of them, most of them stupid!(like "does that go through bone?" or "is that real?" or even "how did you do it?")

I have prepaired a small Q&A about this piercing, because im tired of answering questions!

Q: Does it hurt?

A: Not to me, because im slightly Sadomasichistic, but some people will feel pain, depends on you body!

Q: Is it through the bone?

A: NO! through the bone would require drilling, and LOTS of pain.

Q: What Size Barbell Should I Use?

A: It all depends on your body type, since i have a fat bridge, i need a larger size (im using a barbell for a healed tounge) but some people can use a small eyebrow barbell) just go and get it messured, and allow room for swelling!

Q: Should I do this at home?

A: NO! NEVER do a piercing at home, unless you know you are qualified to do it, and even then, I dont recomend it! I pierce myself, because i feel like its a personal experiance, and for me its almost ritualistic. i have been doing what i do for a long time, so please dont risk it...im stupid, and insane.
