I've wanted to get my eyebrow pierced for some time now but I just didn't have enough courage. Then one Saturday morning, I decided I wanted to get it done. My 19th birthday is coming up next month, so I talked my mom into paying for it as a birthday present. Since I was 8 most of my presents have been either tattoos or piercings :o) I have 4 in each ear, one in my nose, one in my navel, and now one on my eyebrow. I also have a tattoo of a frog on my ankle that my sister, Kim, drew for me.

I called Adam's Tattoos and inquired about how much the piercing would cost and if I could get it done with a barbell. Adam informed me that it would be $40 with a ring and $50 with a barbell. I've always thought the rings looked cute, but because I work with children, I decided to get a barbell because it would be safer.

The drive up there was so nerve racking! I was shaking the whole way, but I wasn't about to back out because I'd been boasting to all my friends that morning about how I was going to get it done, and I just couldn't back down now. I had chosen Adam's because I had recently got my tattoo there and I knew they were excellent at what they do! When I arrived he checked my I.D (they refuse to serve minors), and then told me to wait while he set up the room. I was still shaking. I couldn't believe I was actually going to get my eyebrow pierced. I've got tons of other piercings, and each time I get a new one, I always get the same 'I can't believe I'm doing this' feeling!

He came back out and led me down a long hallway to a very spacious piercing room. He asked me if I had any allergies or medical conditions that he should know about and I said "no." The familiar hum of a tattoo gun in the room next door actually calmed my nerves. Adam asked me to lie down in the dentist-looking chair while he went to work sorting out the barbell. I watched out of the corner of my eye as he held a pair of tongs (I don't know if that's what he'd call them, but they looked like miniature cooking tongs...lol) and proceeded to twist a rubber band around them. He made the dots on my eyebrow. I was surprised he didn't ask me to look in the mirror to see if they were okay. He grabbed the tongs and lined up the holes with my dots. I don't like looking at the needle that I'm going to be pierced with. It always sends a shiver down my spine, so I shut my eyes. Adam told me to take a deep breath in, so I did, and then he said "right, now a big breath out." I breathed out and then I felt it. It hurt; I'm not going to lie to you about that! But it was a quick pain. Like when someone pinches you really, really, really hard! He grabbed a pair of pliers (like I said before, I don't know if that's what the pierces call them, but that's sure what they looked like to me. But then again, my eyes were watering so I couldn't really see straight LOL!) And screwed on the balls. He gave a nod of approval and told me to look in the mirror. I couldn't believe what I saw. It looked SO cute! Adam handed me an aftercare instruction sheet and told me to change my pillow case every 3 days to keep it clean and to wash with dial soap and sea salt mixed with water.

I still can't believe I got it done! It's kinda funny. Every time I look to the right I can see this large round thing in the way. But then again, it's like when I had my nose pierced and I kept walking into everything because I kept looking down at the shiny stud sitting on my nose LOL!!!!!!!!! I would totally recommend getting your eyebrow done. I love my it so much and it's only 2 hours old :o) I was afraid of it looking ugly because I have busy eyebrows, but I really do think it looks cute! It does hurt afterwards. Every time I raise my eyebrows or smile I get a shooting pain, but I know that it'll go away soon. If you are ever in the Federal Way area and are looking to get a piercing or tattoo, Adam's is awesome! They are really clean and very professional! Just make sure that if you are going to go there, you have cash because they don't take checks or credit cards! If you have anymore questions, feel free to e-mail me and I'll be more then happy to help ;o)

Happy Piercing!
