OK. Where do I begin? I was sitting watching T.V with my brother and his best friend David one Saturday morning. I was really bored and I said, "I think I'll get my eyebrow pierced". I was serious about it and so was David. My brother hates piercings and tattoos (I don't know why. I seem to be the only one in my family who likes that sort of stuff). I had been thinking about getting it done for years but i was always too young. I'm 12 now but I look way older than I actually am.

My next obstacle was getting the money. But I managed to. I had money saved but I didn't want to waste it so I just did lots of work around the house for the next week. My mom knew that I wanted to get it done but she didn't think that they would pierce it for me. Let's not talk about my dad. He would freak if he found out I was even thinking of getting it done. My mom would too but she just didn't believe me. David and me get on really well and he offered to come with me. So we went up to the piercer's the Saturday after I decided I wanted to get it done. I was really nervous but I wasn't leaving the place until I got it done. I went in. I was too nervous to talk so David did all the talking. He half knew the piercer in there so there wasn't a problem with me getting it done.
David said I wanted to get my eyebrow pierced and she gave me forms to fill out. So I filled them out and I started to get sooooo nervous. I just sat on the chair rocking back and forward while David was looking at tattoo designs in books. So the piercer went into the back and started getting everything ready. Then she brought me in and I asked could David come in with me. So David came in with me and she put on those surgical type gloves and took a new sterilized needle out of a little packet.
She started explaining to me what she was going to do. Then she cleaned the area that she was going to pierce. Then she marked it with a pen or something. She asked me if that was okay and I said yeah. Then she explained what she was going to do with the clamp. So I closed my eyes and she started clamping the eyebrow. I was talking away to David and then he starts saying "Oh here it comes". Then I felt a tiny little prick. I could feel the needle moving inside my skin. It was the coolest thing ever. Then she started screwing on the little ball and she said "Now. All done". I couldn't believe it was over. So she brought me over to a mirror so I could see it. It was a bit bloody but that's natural. I mean I just had a needle stuck through my eyebrow. It wasn't bleeding but there was the tiniest bit of blood there. So I paid her and she gave me an information sheet about cleaning it.
Now 4 months on it's perfect. It healed perfectly. I always made sure I cleaned it. I always took time to clean it. I even cleaned it in an airport when I was flying to England.
Does it hurt?
Depends on the person. For me it was like 100 times less pain then pinching your skin. And I went in thinking it was going to be the worst pain I would ever go through. It doesn't matter if you think it's gonna hurt or not. It either hurts or it doesn't. When i was getting the top of my ear pierced for the first time i thought it would hurt and it didn't. The second time i got it pierced i didn't think it would hurt and it did.So to me the whole "making it hurt because you think it will" is bullshit.
Confronting the parents.
That was pretty hard but after a while they forgave and forgot. Sometimes they forget I have it done. My dad hates it and my mom doesn't mind it. But my aunt thinks its really cool.
So if you're thinking of getting it done I say definitely. It doesn't really hurt. But if you're only getting it done for an image then don't get it done. That's just the stupidest thing anyone could ever do. Get it done if you like the piercing.
My next piercing will be my belly button. That's gonna be next month around my birthday. Then my lip when I'm about 16. But in between i'll get loads of ear piercings.
