Well it all started when I was sitting in Social Studies with my friend Nelly. We were talking about piercings and she said "Why don't you just go in tomorrow and ger your eyebrow done?!" I thought for like 10 seconds and then I said "OK, why not." So we went to the student phone and made an appointment for the next day at 11:00am. By the time we got back to class everyone knew and they all wanted to get theirs done. I felt kind of bad getting mine done because Nelly had just got hers done and so did her b/f. But if she didn't have a problem with it then neither did I. She is just hoping that noone else in our school wanted theirs done.

Later that night Nelly, my boyfriend, and I were all sitting up talking about the jewellery I wanted. I decided on a very small 14g ring with a jade bead. My boyfriend then surprised me by saying that he was going to get his done the next day too. He wanted a barbell though.

The next day my mom drove us downtown and we headed on into the studio. I was really, really nervous. I don't know why, I mean it wasn't my first pierce (It was my third) I guess thats why I like getting them. You never know how theyre going to feel.

Jay warmly greeted us and showed me the jewellery. He then led us into the piercing room. I sat down in the chair and he made me breath this really nice aroma therapy (which really relaxed me) then he told me the procedure and marked my eyebrow. Then he massaged my hands with a really soft sponge cloth thing. I breathed in more aroma therapy and we were all set. By this time I was totally relaxed (almost asleep acually) If it weren't for Nelly and my boyfriend re assuring my mom I would have thought I was in a room all by myself in a really comfy chair.

He clamped my eyebrow with tongs (they look like the big ones that you have in your kitchen but they were teeny) and that didn't hurt at all. Then he said "Breath in on 1...out on 2.......in on 3........and hmmmmmm!!!!!" As I said "Hmmmmm" he gently slid the needle through and put in the jewellery. Then it was all done. It didn't hurt at all. It felt like...Ok you know when little babies are just learning how to hold on to your finger. It's a hard pinch but it doesn't hurt, It feels like that but on your eyebrow. Then it was my b/f's turn. I held his hand (mostly for me because I was still really relaxed and felt like I was going to go to sleep) and Jay went through the entire proceedure with him too. My b/f said it didn't hurt and his looked great too.

It was a really great experience and if you're thinking of going in to get it done I say GO FOR IT!!!!!! You will NOT regret it at all. I've had mine done for 7 days now and it hasn't pussed or bled or anything. I clean it 3 times a day, faitfully. All you have to do is get a really hot, wet cotton ball and hold it on your pierce until it is cold. Then you take a Q-tip and wipe off any gross stuff (I haven't had any yet)Then you put some moisturizer (They give it to you after you get pierced) and dip a Q-tip in that and wipe it all on your jewellery and the acual "wound". If you follow this procedure for a while your pierce should heal very quickly.

If you live on Vancouver Island I HIGHLY recommend you go to The Gothic Alternative. They really get to know their customers and they are really great. They say that if you have even the littlest concerns to go in there and get it checke out. And get this you can get your bead changed for only $1. I think it's the best piercing place I have ever seen. They really know what they're doing. And they're really nice about it.

Well I hope you enjoyed reading about my expierence. I'm acually thinking of getting mine done again. All I need now is money to get it done. So just remember my motto for piercings is Go for it!! They never hurt as much as you think you will. Just do it and don't have second thoughts. So if you have any questions about tongue, naval, or eyebrow piercings feel free to e-mail me about them, I'll be happy to give you any information you need.
