so i was totally infatuated with the ideas of piercings and tattoos since i was a little kid. i still am. i had had my ears pierced thirteen times and was running out of room. my mother wouldn't let me get anything else done but my eighteenth birthday was coming up anyway.

originally i wanted to get my tongue done. for like the longest time. [needless to say im taking the plunge in two days] but i had chickened out once we got to the studio so i opted to get my eyebrow instead. the whole idea was great and i called around the tatto and piercing parlors around the area. the day i really wanted to go the one place was closed so i decided to go the next day rather than go somewhere else.

i went right after school and was shaking the entire time. i had my posse come with me. two took me up there and two met us there. i was the only eighteen year old there. though the one girl knew the guy inside, she had her bellybutton and the inside of her ear pierced [i can't think of the technical term off hand]

i went in and had to scrounge for id. see, im a slacker and have no license, and my permit expired a year ago. i showed my school id, voter's registration card and my social security card. there were two people there. a guy and a girl. the guy took my id and went to make copies while the girl went away to do something, leaving me there to fill out the proper release forms. when both of them came back, though i could tell by the look of the place, i asked if it was clean here... how they sterilize everything and what not. they kinda smiled and assured me that it was. we chatted for a few mintues and then i paid. it was under fourty bucks. i think it came to 38.50 with tax, and they make you buy bactine there too. after paying a really nice lady took me into one of the piercing rooms.

i asked if i could bring a friend in, but she refused, the rooms were small and having someone else there might distract me or the piercer or something could get knocked over, spilled, bumped and then all heck could break loose. i understand but it's weird being in a room with someone you don't know and there are very sharp objects around.

first things first. she put on rubber gloves. she talked me threw it and washed my eyebrow with an alcohol pad. then went in the drawers and came out with a needle, clean and prepacked. she pulled out "the clamp" and set that out too. she marked the spot on my eyebrow and gave me a mirror to make sure it was good for me. then the action came. she came at me with the clamp, positioning it in the right place. she put a paper towel under m eyebrow to catch the blood and to make sure nothing got in my eye. then she went to get the needle. the clamp didn't hurt, and when she stuck the needle through i barely felt it. she pulled away and said that it was done, all she had to do was put the jewelry in.

no way! it really didn't hurt. it's kinda like the needle is so freaking sharp and you're skin is so soft it goes through with absolutely no problems.

the only thing that did hurt was when she closed the ring with the bead. that hurt because it kinda pulls your skin. it's barable though, and coming from me, the biggest non liker of pain in the world, is something.

the only put off is it bled, a lot. im glad she put the paper toel down there. there ws a spray bottle thing she kept spraying on my new hole. i didn't really ask what it ws but i assume it was just water to wash away everything that was around the wound. she let me sit there for awhile and waited for the blood to clot up and made sure i was okay. she even asked if i wanted juice and cookies!

i declined. i can suck it up. *nod*

we got to talking afterward and i told her i really wanted to get my tongue done but went for this instead. she said most people say it hurts less than the eyebrow.

i've harased about everyone i see with their tongue pierced and all of them save for one, a boy, said it doesn't hurt.

taking care of my eyebrow wasn't too bad. the bactine kinda stung and it got infected cause i slacked off. but i got back on the ball and it's been fine. even with infection it wasn't a big problem. it's something that im pleased with and i saw one of my friends later on that night and she made me go back so she could have it done!

all in all i would recommend this to someone who is just starting off and it aprehensive about the whole process.

it's really not bad at all.

so im going for my tongue on friday and soon in the future im gonna get some tattoos. first thing is a malteese cross on my hand and i want stars on the underside of my wrists but i may not get them because the skin is so tender there.
