I decided to get my septum done on a whim. I've never really been much of a fan but after having my tragus done at Slave to the Needle in Seattle (wouldn't recommend it for piercing's seeing how mine keloided and rejected though it looks decent tattoo wise although I'd personally stick with Lucky Boys no matter what) I felt the famous itch. I've never really liked septum piercing's to be brutally honest but after seeing my boyfriend with his out, its usually flipped up because it's a larger gauge and catches on can tops, and looking at photos online it grew on me up to the point where I decided I couldn't survive without one.

It just so happened that my best friend and I were heading down to Silverdale to do some shopping and catch a movie, as we were finishing up our window shopping early and had nothing to do between then and the movie for another 2 or so hours I got an overwhelming urge to get my septum done. My friend suggested we go check out Lucky Boys since they were near by, she had gotten tattooed there recently and really recommended them so we puttered over to give them a quick look-see.
Lucky Boys was really wonderful, its nice and clean and has a wonderful feel about it, I automatically felt comfortable as we worked our way towards the counter at the back where Sam was hanging out. I asked about the piercing and pain tolerance and bleeding and before I knew it I had signed the paper work and was sitting on the bench in the piercing room chatting about what the grossest piercing to do was (dirty linty bellybutton apparently). Sam spent about half an hour dotting my nose and moving a ring he had opened up around to get a better perspective and allowing me to get a feel for what it would look like. After he had poked around a bit (that pen was strangely sharp) and sent me up to the mirror to look at the position I decided it was too far forward for my liking and asked him to move it more towards my face. He did so and we were all set to go.
I got comfortable on the bench and had my friend holding my hand and my heart beating like a humming bird, the clamps went on (and to be completely honest I don't remember what they felt like in comparison to the actual piercing) and I was told to inhale and exhale three times. I felt the needle press against my nose as I inhaled the first time round and my tummy did a quick one-two flip, thats about the last thing I can remember but apparently I passed out (I'm embarrassed to admit it) by the time I came to I felt extremely hot and like I was having trouble breathing and apparently was spouting nonsense about a green field with bunny rabbits that I had seen while I was gone but the piercing was done and the jewelry was in place. Apparently I really scared my friend because she had been holding my hand throughout this and I had been squeezing pretty hard when all of a sudden my grip went slack and my eyes rolled up into my head :D Sam had to send one of his coworkers next door for something with sugar in it to try and help. I don't know if it was not eating anything before hand, asking the position to be moved down or me just being a goof that caused me to pass out but everyone else I've talked to said it was painful but not extremely so. Once I was able to stand up I took a peek at my new piercing in the mirror and was surprised to see that it was crooked, apparently my head had fallen back when I was being pierced causing the needle to miss its exit mark, this disappointed me slightly seeing how I wanted a perfect looking piercing from the get go. Over the past couple of months of my playing with my septum and it naturally migrating into its most comfortable place it has straightened out and I absolutely love it to bits.
I would recommend this piercing to anyone who wants it, it's relatively easy to hide if you get a horse-shoe or a retainer in case there's a conflict work or home wise and I love how unique it is, I've only met one other female with it and I've been told it suits my face much better :D I'm planning on going back to Sam and talking about getting a Monroe or my tongue done, still undecided but I know its time for me to get another piercing!
