I used to hate bridge piercings with a passion. I used to think they were the ugliest piercing in the world. It looks good on some people, but some just need to leave it alone. I was watching a
movie and I fell asleep. When i woke up I for some reason was in a piercing mood. I tend to get that way sometimes and just pick some random place and pierce it. But this time I remembered I just got my taxes back and I had some money.
In the past few weeks I have been online looking at several piercings and I came across quite a few bridge piercings. I started to fall in love with this piercing. So when I woke up I got the
phone book and called my piercer down at Jade Monkey, but he was gone for the day. So I called Port City to talk to Aaron but he was also gone for the day. Then I remembered Inkkeepers because my friend Chris got his eyebrow done there.
So I look up the number and I call and Eric said that yeah he does bridge piercings and that he only charges $40. So I thought hey it is reasonable and the studio was close to my house. Of course first thing I do is start reading some stories about bridges on BME. Then I get online and start telling a few people that I was thinking about getting my bridge done and they were all like go for it. Then I kept thinking about it and you know how it goes the more you think about it the less you wanna do it. So I called up my boy Adam (can make me do about anything) and I talk to him for a little bit and he convinces me to stop thinking about it and go get it done. So finally I just grabbed my keys and left.
When I got there everyone was standing outside and I told them I was there to get my bridge done and Eric was like come on back and to me to this extremely small room. Of course I pulled
out my ID and signed all the neccessarry paperwork. Then he sat me down in the chair and I think I asked a million questions. Then finally he pulls out the needle, clamps, q-tips, barbell, and all the sanitizing stuff.
It took him 30 minutes to mark the position of the barbell. Then he has me look at it and it looks crooked so I had him straighten it up. After he straightens it up he has me close my eyes
And applies the clamp. Surprisingly I did not feel the clamp at all. Then he tells me to start taking deep breaths and I feel the needle enter. No pain at this point just alot of pressure. I feel his hand slip off the needle. Then he gets the needle through and of course by this time I have blood just covering my face. he puts in the jewelry hand me a napkin to catch the blood.
He looks at me and says you seem like a cool guy mind if I take a picture of all the blood on your face. I said sure but I want copies. So he goes and grabs the camera and takes the picture. Then he looks at it and tells me look in the mirror, the piercing is crooked. The right side is slightly down and a little bit forward. So I tell him take it out and do it again. So he cleans up all the blood, grabs a new needle and once again the clamps are applied. The second time was so much easier than the first time this time the needle glided through like butter.
This time the piercing was straight. He only charged me $30 because he had messed up. I was going to tip my piercer but seeing as he messed it up, not this time. On the drive home, all the headlights on the street were reflecting off the balls and blinding me.
So I went straight home and it started to bleeding but I remembered that if you apply pressure to it that it would stop. There were only a few drops of blood so everything was ok. I was going to go show my friend Savvy my new piercing because she suggested that I should get it done. But like I said the headlights were blinding me and I was not going anywhere else tonight. So now I am satisfied with my new piercing and Saturday I am going to get a 20 ring corset done on my back by my body piercer over at Jade Monkey (Chu). This time it will be done without anybody messing it up.
