I first realized I wanted another piercing (I had my ears pierced twice already) after I had seen my cousin. He is covered in piercings and tattoos all over his body, and I really look up to him for his individuality (I can remember once I was in town with friends when we spotted him waiting for his wife outside a clothes shop, and one friend said, "Eeurgh! Look at his piercings, that's disgusting!" Her face was a picture as I ran up to him and started talking to him!).

All through middle school I had wanted my belly pierced, but my mum being a nurse gave me the excuse of the amount of people she's seen with infected bellies and totally put me off the idea. Then in upper school I really wanted an eyebrow piecing, I started drawing pictures of myself with a cute bar through my eyebrow. But yet again, my mum decided against it.

But eventually she came around to the idea of getting my nose pierced. I decided to get it done on the first day of the summer holidays, as that would give it enough time to heal as piercings are not allowed at my school except for one stud in each ear, and I didn't want to go to school wearing a plaster over my nose!

Finally the day came, and I was so excited after having told everyone I know that I was getting it done. My mum was taking me to get it done in Adrenalin in Cheapside, Luton. I chose this as another of my cousins recommended it as that is where he gets all of his tattoos, and everytime I walk past it looks lovely, clean and modern. We left the house early as I wanted it over and done with to have the rest of the day to show it off to everybody! But when we got to Adrenalin, it was closed until 12 o'clock. 3 hours I had to wait!!! So we decided to have a look around town until it opened.

But I was getting impatient and I wanted it done straight away. So we went to another piercing place, Terrapin, to see if I could get it done there. That was shut aswell!!! What was it with piercing places opening late!!! So off we went trekking around town. After a while we went back to Terrapin and I asked to get my nose done. The girl said that they only did it with a gun as the piercer wasn't in that day. But I knew it was safer and cleaner with a needle so I said no. I didn't like the look of Terrapin really anyways as it is in the market and totally open. More waiting until Adrenalin opened then!

Finally 12 o'clock came and we went to Adrenalin. Yes!!! It was open!!! The woman took me through to a little cubicle and sat me on the bed. I saw she was putting an earring into an ear piercing gun, so I asked her if she could do it with a needle. She apologized and said that most people prefer it with a gun as it is quicker, and that she should have asked before hand, but yes, she would do it with a needle. "You're brave! Most people are chicken and want the gun!" she said to me. Then she went and prepared the needle. She marked the dot on my nose and showed me the tiny screw she would use. It was lovely, and the dot was in the right place, on the right side. She stuck the receiving tube up my nose after cleaning it out, explaining everything as she went through. She didn't clamp my nose as she said it would make it red and sore. And then she did it ... she told me to close my eyes as she pierced the needle through. I clenched my fists, but it didn't hurt, just a slight tw inge.

I didn't realize my brother was watching, but as the woman went to get the screw and left the needle in my nose, I heard my brother shout, "Aaaargh! She's got a needle sticking out of her face!!!" So naturally I opened my eyes to see the needle. But as I opened my eyes a mini waterfall came from my right eye! I couldn't see at all, just a blur of the needle in front of me. I could feel mascara running down my cheek, I bet I looked a state! Then the woman screwed in the stud and handed me some tissues to wipe my eye and she cleaned my new piercing as it had bled a little.

I looked in the mirror and it was lovely, I was so pleased with it. We paid the £15 (it was only £8 with a gun) and off we went. I kept seeing it in shop windows glinting, it looks beautiful.

Now I've had it just over 3 months and I've had next to no problems with it. At first I kept catching it on clothes and towels etc, but now I'm careful. I cleaned it twice a day with Saline Solution as I was told and it healed really quickly. I got a spot practically inside the hole the other week and it was quite sore and painful, especially when I had to pierce the spot with my stud to get it in! But now it's healed up perfectly, and I have a cute little hole. And I managed to find a stud which is so tiny I can wear it at school without teachers noticing, so it's all good!!! Everyone sees it and tells me how good it looks and how it really suits me, so I am more than happy with my piercing!

A few weeks after my nose I went back to get my ears pierced again. Next up its my eyebrow when I'm 18 (so my parents can't tell me what I can and can't do!!) and I'm thinking of getting my tongue done, as my boyfriend has agreed to get his done with me if I have it done. I've definitely become addicted!
