Alright, I pierced my tongue web last night, it went absolutely smoothly. Needle went through with no pain but I did have a problem with the jewelry, I could not get the ball on the end. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get that damned ball on the end.

Anyways, I started wanting a web piercing when a friend showed me a couple of years ago. She offered to do one for me but my boyfriend did not like it so I hesitated and did not let her do it. I was looking at getting my tongue pierced but I knew my mom would not like it considering she did not like my dad's and I knew my friend would absolutely hate me so I was looking for alternatives and something that I could do myself since my mom has a problem with piercings. So I was looking at stuff on google under “tongue piercing” and I came across a picture of a tongue web and feel back in love with them.

I thought that getting my tongue web done was a good idea because I am not with that guy anymore but we are still GREAT friends but because I could hide it from both him and my mom. My dad doesn't mind, he likes piercings so I am not worried about him. I went out and bought some jewelery from Claire's and I didn't realize that I had no 14 g needles until I got home. I bought some pretty bright coloured straight 14g barbells and it turned out that I needed 16g which I luckily had one at home. Anyways, I decided to do it so I waited for my mom to go to bed and then found a 16g sewing needle and grabbed a curved 16g barbell. I soaked them both in alcohol for about 5 minutes and then took some special jewelry cleaner and swished them around in that for a bit. I laid out of bit of toilet paper to let them dry on and to keep them from touching the counter to keep as clean as I possibly could because everyone hates infections. Wort things in the world....

I washed my hands and put the needle up to where I wanted it. I pushed through and the first thing that scares you is that first pop when it starts going through the skin. That freaked me a little and almost made me want to stop but I kept going. I got it all the way through and let it sit for like two seconds and pulled it out. BIG MISTAKE!!! I lost the hole. I grabbed my needle again and searched for the hole, I found it. I pushed the needle farther through that time and let it sit in my mouth for a while. Then I wiggled it around moved it back and forth and took the needle out. I put my jewelry through. I was very pleased with it because it went through very smoothly and was very straight and it looked good. One problem though. I COULD NOT GET THE BALL ON!!! I tried for over an hour, I tried a different piece of jewelery but it still did not work. So I gave and I am going to let it heal and get a straight barbell and try again.

I was very very very pleased with it and I am not so nervous to do it again. I thought it would hurt but it didn't hurt at all to me. It only hurt when I started moving it around and trying to get the jewelry in. The only speech problem I had was because of the swelling so I think that it won't be hard to talk again. I was able to eat right away, it didn't hurt me at all but that may be because I didn't have a piece of jewelry in but I do plan on doing it again maybe tomorrow night. I just need a straight barbell. I suggest you use a straight or curved barbell only if they have a big enough but so that you can handle it and get the ball on. I was very happy with the position and the feeling when I did put my tongue down it felt good, I liked the feeling. I cannot wait until I can do it again. If you are thinking about doing it I think you should. It was totally worth it and I liked the way it looked other than the fact I could not get the ball on.

Go ahead and do it. It will look great and I think people will think it is cool and want you to do it to them. Have a fun time piercing!!
