It was about three months ago that I was looking at BME for some kind of mod to get, first mod at that. I was looking at the tongue piercing section and I was intrigued with the off-center piercings'. After finding out that they were called venoms I was instantly set that that is what I wanted to get as my first mod. I did some research on Google for any health risks, also read some stories here on BME of other people who have gotten them. Still I was determined to get them. Well seeing that this was in November and Thanksgiving was right around the corner I decided to wait. Then again in December, Christmas was approaching and no way was I going to pass on the opportunity to eat all the tasty food. Believe it or not I put this on my list for a New Year's resolution along with getting a tattoo, and being more active outside. So I was set to do this after New Year's.

January passed and I was still gathering money from paying off my credit card bills. About a week ago I finally had two hundred saved up and off I went to this place where my friend got all his piercings done at. I met with the receptionist, she was very nice and hot and I told her if they do venom piercings' she told me they did, and I told her that's what I wanted. I signed the usual mumble jumble and I waited until the piercer was done with another client. I'll say this I was getting really nervous about getting them done, since people say that these hurt a lot more since they go straight through the muscle. But anyways I waited it out. Finally thirty minutes later the piercer comes out of the back room and calls me up. So there I go into the back room, he got some of the stuff ready which all where packaged which is very important, and he proceeded to mark my tongue with this nasty ass liquid well he got the dots matched up told me to look at them and he put the clamp on my tongue. Breathe in, breathe out. And before I knew it the first one was done. I'll admit it hurt when he tightened the balls I put my tongue back in my mouth and it felt kind of weird having it inside but oh well. Took out my tongue and he proceeded to do the second one, this one hurt a lot more. Well it was done, he gave me the aftercare speech and I paid and that was it.

After getting pierced I went to the local drug store and got some aspirin and some ice cream I went home and I must have starred at myself in the mirror for like an hour sounds kind of conceited but oh well the rest of the day I just ate ice cream and jello, and I awaited for the dreadful next morning which is supposedly the worst. Next day it hurt a lot and I mean a lot it was almost unbearable I took some aspirin and sucked on some ice and it helped somewhat. I almost wanted to take them out to stop the pain, but I decided I had for it and now I had to suffer. Ice, jello, and ice cream were all I was able to eat lots of cold water and some kool-aid. I will say that cleaning it is a pain in the butt but it has to be done to prevent any infection. Day three wasn't as bad it still hurt but nothing that some aspirin and ice wouldn't fix. I tried to eat some french fires but for some reason I just couldn't eat them. Since then swelling has gone down I still haven't eaten anything really hard but for the most part it's just tricky maneuvering the food without chewing on some steel. I should mention that I took a week off of work so that they could heal properly and so that when I talk it's not just a lot of mumbles. But that was just the first two days that I sounded very funny talking second day I was not understandable couldn't even answer the phone without them thinking they had dialed the wrong number. But thank god for email and MSN. As for the overall experience it was a good one, well not the healing but that's a given. I say if you want to get it done do it. Life is too short to just let it go by and then regret it later because you never did anything crazy. I already set up an appointment to get a tattoo. That will be two things off of my resolution list I will have crossed off and it's barely three months into the New Year. Nine months to work out. *sigh*..
