Okay, How I Got My Venom Piercings.

All it really came down to was the fact that I had spare money, and Justin (my piercer) had nothing to do. I guess it was a rash decision, but I have NEVER regretted it. They would almost definitely be two of my favourite piercings.

But anyway,

I visited him one afternoon to get more information about the piercings, and he told me all I wanted to know about them. He also told me that he strongly recommended, if I was to get them, that I should get both done at the same time. The swelling would definitely be worse, but it would stop me from spooking and not returning for the second piercing.

I decided to get the piercings, and I took his advice.

As soon as he was ready, he called me in to the piercing room thing...haha. Not too sure what the actual name for it is. Piercing room, I guess...He then asked me whether or not I wanted to sit up or lay down...I chose to lie down...I felt safer that way, for some reason. I guess I just didn't trust myself to stay sitting up. I'm such a sook.

Now this was my first oral piercing, so naturally, I was nervous as hell. At the time, I wasn't enjoying it, but afterwards I realised it was definitely a good thing. The adrenaline helped with the pain. Or, at least...I think it did. I can't really recall the pain...well...not as clearly as I thought I would have been able to.

Anyway, back to the procedure...

First, he asked me to use some anti-bacterial mouthwash, to reduce the chance of my piercing getting infected, which is something I've been lucky enough to never experience in relation to piercings. It didn't taste pleasant at all.

He then asked me to stick my tongue out, and marked out the first piercing spot...the waterproof ink tastes horrible, by the way...and proceeded to clamp my tongue.

After he had the clamp on securely, he pulled my tongue outside of my mouth, and held it there. Because I was so nervous, I started dribbling everywhere, which, embarrassing as it was, was something EVERY tongue piercing client did, according to Justin.

Now, by this time, I was sweating and starting to get a little shaky. It didn't help when he pulled out the needle he was going to pierce me with! It looked huge!

He lined up the needle, and then asked me to take a deep breath in, then a deep breath out, then a deep breath in, then a deep breath...you can see where this is going, right?

After about a minute of deep breathing (Which DEFINITELY helped to calm me down), he pushed the needle through the bottom of my tongue. It didn't hurt much at all...but it was EASILY one of the most unpleasant sensations I've ever felt. I could feel the tip of the needle come out of the top of my tongue...and I'll never forget that.

He held my tongue out, while the needle was still sticking out of it, and lined up the jewellery with the needle...Seeing a needle sticking out of your own tongue is a truly bizarre experience, but strangely enjoyable.

As he pulled the needle out, he pushed the jewellery through. Again, it was an extremely unpleasant sensation, which was enhanced by Justin putting the ball on top of the bar. As soon as he had the ball screwed on tight enough, he let me take my tongue back in my mouth. It was SUCH a relieving feeling!

After the first piercing was done, he gave me some ice to suck on while he readied himself for the second piercing. He took about two minutes to get all the equipment ready again.

Again, he asked me to stick out my tongue so he could mark it out and clamp it. I really hated that sensation by now, and the taste of the waterproof ink was really getting to me.

He asked me to lie back down, and as I did, he pulled out the second needle and lined it up. I started getting all nervous and whatnot again, and he asked me to repeat the breathing pattern he'd shown me earlier...which calmed me down again.

With a count of "1, 2, 3!" He pushed the needle through my tongue again...which was just as unpleasant as the first piercing. It's just a completely horrible sensation to me...not a fan at all!

Again, he lined up the jewellery and pushed it through. He screwed the ball on, and that was it! I was allowed to take my tongue back into my mouth!

To reduce swelling, I went straight across the street to the fast food store and bought a mega slushee. It was FANTASTIC for reducing the swelling, and tasted great too, haha.

About two weeks later, both piercings were fully healed. And a month later, they're still doing fine.

I love them!
