I'm 18 years old and the second I got my navel pierced when I was 13, I was hooked. Aside from some ear piercings that occasionally get weird look or a "you pierced THAT??" I have the standard nose, tongue, navel, boring! I was on the lookout for a different, not quite as common piercing. I came on BMEzine, saw the tongue webbing piercing and fell in love. I read a couple of the stories and made up my mind that I wanted it. Once I decide I want a piercing, waiting more than a few hours is like torture so I drove down to Freak Show on Elizabeth.

I told them I wanted my webbing pierced and Jojo, the piercer, looked underneath my tongue and told me it was really shallow and might not be able to be pierced. I was pretty sad but he told me to come into the piercing room and he looked at it more closely and said that it was really shallow and there's always a chance of migration but little chance of it coming all the way out but there weren't any veins or anything in the way so he'd do it if I really wanted, and even though now I was a little worried, of course I did! He said he'd put a CBR in it but I wanted a curved bar for some reason and he said that was fine. I was a little nervous but not too bad as I got on the table and rinsed out my mouth. I pierced my tongue when I was 15 and it was not bad at all so I figured this probably couldn't be too bad. He told me that because of the placing of the piercing it would take him a little while to screw the balls on and if I started swallowing saliva or choking on it to not jerk my head back. This scared me like great I'm gonna choke to death on my own spit while I'm getting a piercing.

But oh well I wanted it, so I opened my mouth so he could mark it, and I thought the markings were perfect so he said to swallow a few times and open up wide. I had to make my mouth REALLY wide and keep my tongue on the roof of my mouth which was kind of hard(I took my tongue ring out to make it easier) and he put the clamps on, I took a deep breath, exhaled, I felt a little pinch and it was done. I barely felt it, the clamps were like 5 times worse than the needle going through. I had to sit for a minute or two with his hands in my mouth screwing the balls on which was a little uncomfortable but not too bad, while he was doing it he was like I know this is awkward but if it makes you feel any better it looks awesome (which made me feel better.) And I didn't choke on my saliva, thank god. He told me to rinse out my mouth with salt water especiallly after eating, which I remembered from having my tongue pierced, and he said that it would heal much faster than my tongue and probably not even swell at all which is great! I got off the table, paid him, said thanks and left and as I walked out the door I showed it to Dan (the owner) and he told me if you get two at one you get 20% off! Sooo me being the broke person I am I figured that I'll be getting more piercings anyway I might as well do it when I can get it for cheaper so I turned right back around and decided to get my daith pierced. I sat back down on a bench while Jojo got everything ready and I felt one of the balls of my webbing fall off so I had to jump back on the table while he put the ball back on again and made sure they were REALLY tight, which hurt a little more and I was kinda dizzy after, but still not too bad. And at least not I know they definitely won't be falling off.

I showed it to a few of the people in the shop as I was leaving and everyone was like wow! I just got home and it stings a little bit but I think that's only because I keep lifting up my tongue to look at it in the mirror. I LOVE this piercing, it's easily hidden and barely hurts at all, and it's cute as hell. If your in Fort Collins you should definitely go to Freak Show, the people are really nice and talkative and make you feel at home.
