Well I am not sure what exactly made me want a tongue web piercing. I remember I saw it at this one girl at school and I did not think anything of it but once I started getting into piercings I saw it one day and immediately fell in love. It was interesting, easy to hide from my parents who would freak if they saw it and as I read more and more I found out how easy it was to do it yourself.

On Tuesday I was looking through some tongue web pictures and began to read some submissions for some really odd reason. Do not even remember even though it was a day ago. I read a lot of DIY experiences, though not as many as I should have, and decided I was going to do it. I had a safety pin (I know, that is incredibly stupid but I had no other choice) and a 14g curved barbell and alcohol and mouthwash so I thought I might as well do it.

I called up my friend and told her what I was planning on doing and she encouraged me to go for it so I went into my bathroom and put the jewelry in a cap full of alcohol (which I know is not sterilizing it but I had no other choice) the safety pin in another cap full of alcohol and I thought it would help so I put some tweezers in another cap of alcohol.

I talked on the phone with my friend for a while, going on the computer to read more experiences and chatting with my other friend who said it was stupid, and went back into the bathroom to check my stuff. It seemed alright so I hung up with my friend and went to prepare. I washed my hands, swished around some nasty mouth wash and closed and locked the bathroom door.

I got the safety pin and got the tweezers, trying to pull out the web a bit but I found out fast that that was a dumb idea so I just got the needle, found a place, which was kind of hard since my tongue web is really small, and stuck it through. It took some pressure but I got it through with no pain and it bled just a tiny bit. I tried to stick the jewelry through but it was much too thick for a hole made by a safety pin so I went into my earring box and got one, sticking it in some alcohol and waiting just a couple minutes before grabbing it and trying to stick it through. The hole closed so I pierced it again, hurting just a little more than before. Still the earring would not go through and I was drooling a lot, all over the place.

I headed into my room because I did not want anyone to get suspicious of what I was doing and closed and locked the door, piercing the web one more time and sticking the earring in afterwards. I was drooling all over the place and it took me about 15 minutes to get the back of the earring on, after dropping it a few times and having to get new ones that were not sterile, real stupid but I was determined.

It was in finally and I was so happy and called up my friend, who did not believe me for a little bit. I went to school the next day, showing all my friends and most of them were like "whoa" which was the best reaction ever. I loved my tongue web piercing because it was so unique but after school I went and got a new barbell because the earring back was hurting my mouth, especially when I ate which was so hard.

I could not get he barbell through because I lost the back 2 seconds after I got it and had to pierce it two times, trying to put in my earring again and succeeding after a long while, my friend kept making me laugh so it was harder to do. But it was hurting a lot so I just took it out, of course after ripping my tongue web, or at least the little white bubble like thing that had formed.

I liked my tongue piercing for like the day I had it and I might do it again, since I am getting some money and will be able to buy the proper equipment for this. A needle and some mouth wash. It kind of hurts right now, somewhat sore.

I DO NOT suggest anyone self-pierce they're tongue web. I'm happy that I did not totally injure my tongue and even though the experience was not a complete success I did not hurt myself but you all might not be so lucky. If you're thinking of doing it, try to get it done by a professional if you can but if not, then definitely know what you are doing, not like me. Well happy piercing!
