Hey people, ever wanted a piercing so badly but someone of higher authority then you (for the best example your parents) just wouldn't let you have it for the time being. Well that was my exact situation. I have wanted my tongue web done for 3 years, and haven't even bothered asking about getting it because I knew the answer. Since the legal rule is that you must be sixteen to go get a piercing alone, I knew I couldn't go by myself. However, my close cousin is 18 years old and she could bring me and sign for me if she even had to sign. So, my cousin and I made plans to go get my tongue web done at this small little store in a mall called Lawrence Square. My cousin and I have both been very good customers to him and also, he doesn't think that I'm fifteen, which worked wonderfully in my favor.

I was so upset. I wanted to kill him. So we asked him why he wouldn't do it and he explained that he never pierced a tongue web before, however, he knew the procedure. So, my cousin curbed his thinking by saying "Well you always pierce something first, just like you had done your first tongue piercing or eyebrow piercing for example." I made sure he knew what he was doing, and then he agreed to do it. I was ecstatic. So he checked out my tongue to check for veins and all, and then he said I had a good web for piercing. He made me fill out this form, but believed that I was over 16, and I didn't even have to show him any ID. I was so happy that I got away with it.(my cousin also got her labret done there)
So I then chose the jewelry and he prepared his tools and asked me to sit down in the chair. I had to swoosh around mouthwash in my mouth for a good two minutes that was certainly painful. After he gave me the okay to spit out the mouthwash, he made me very uncomfortably stick out my tongue and then curl it up that way I would be pushing up and out my tongue web. He bent the needle into a sort of half moon sort of shape and pushed the needle through the clamps. If anything the clamps hurt most. The piercing itself was fast and felt like a pinch. Here's when the "fun" began.
He let my mouth relax with the needle through and coming out of my mouth, looked cool though. Ok so then he asked me to hold my tongue back up and he took the needle out..without inserting the jewelry at the same time. I was extremely confused and about to get pretty ticked off with the guy, so I asked him what the hell he was doing and why he took the needle out, I thought he was going to tell me that he had to pierce it again. Thank god he didn't. However, he put rubbing alcohol in my mouth on a cotton ball. And I gave him hell for that, cause your sort of NOT SUPPOSED TO. So he then inserted the jewelry with the needle taken fully out of my mouth. It felt like it was being pierced again. Once it was in, the piercer attempted to put on the ball on the piece of jewelry. He was struggling ALOT. The funny thing is that only the piercer is supposed to be wearing gloves correct? WELL my cousin, the piercer and I were all wearing piercing gloves...I found this quite amusing and hilarious, this is because no one could get the ball on. So for 45 minutes I had my mouth held open by the piercer and my cousin and two different clamps inside my mouth at the same time. One was being used to hold one end of the jewelry, and the other end holding the ball trying to get it on the jewelry. They finally got it on.
What an adventure. The best part was there was an audience..they were all in shock-n-aw saying how I was out of my mind and what was I doing and stuff...hah. After my cousin went to go get me some water to cool down my mouth. As far as the after pain of the piercing went for me, the pain felt like all of my bottom jaw and inside tissue of the bottom of my mouth was bruised (thankfully wasn't) I was sort of unsure about having gotten the piercing done. But once just over a week passes its excellent hardly any pain, but VERY high maintenance. And no one knows about it yet =P
