I had always wanted a tongue web piercing since I saw one here at bme. But coming back home after being at school in Miami I didn't know of any decent piercing places or any with people with the experience of performing such a piercing. Later at my younger cousin Becky's graduation party I met up with my cousin Jose's girlfriend and she showed me her's and I thought "well it can be done here!:)" Unfortunately since I was at a family event all I could say was how awesome it looked and couldn't ask where to get one. Especially since my family was still upset about my nose piercing and they still don't know that I have a tattoo as well.

I did some searching on citysearch.com and found Rick's tattoos, Skyline tattoos, and Comes a Time in their highest-ranking places. So on Tuesday Jul. 11 I lied and said I had dinner with a friend after work. I headed out to Rick's first I found the place ok but when I asked about the piercing the lady there discouraged me from it and I didn't feel so comfortable there. I think I got funny looks because I was still in my office clothes.

The next day I decided to try Skyline unfortunately I couldn't find the place at both the addresses I was given and ended up going home without a piercing again. :(

The third day (yesterday) I decided I would have to go out to get this on my lunch break since I could no longer keep coming up with excuses as to why I was getting home late from work to my parents. Marlow Ink was located close enough to where I worked so when 12 o'clock rolled around away I went. I actually found the place and went in. The place seemed clean and the people there were friendly and told me that my piercing would be $65. At first when I went to an ATM I was thinking not to do it because it seemed so expensive. I then thought about all the trouble I had gone through the past few days for this and realized that I refused to have fate thwart me for a third time. I said to my self it's now or "never" and got the money. I came back to the shop gave the guy at the desk the money and filled out the form and gave I.D. I was a little nervous and sweating a bit but that's how I get before a piercing either way I paid the money and I was going to follow through with it.

I was called into the piercing room (which looked more like a dentist office) and was told to swish with this yellow Listerine. After that I was told to open my mouth and pull my tongue up towards the roof of my mouth. Luckily for me my web didn't need clamps in this position and the needle went in (I felt just the slightest pinch) and the 14 gauge CBR was put in and it didn't even take him long to get the bead on as I've read in other stories here. And like that it was over I didn't feel the jewelry go in like with my nose. No pain! I was told for after care to rinse with a sea salt soak after every meal and was given a paper with instructions.

Afterwards the piercer asked me if he could take a picture of it because it was the first one he had done without forceps and he said that no one had asked for one of these in a while. I said sure and asked to look at the picture since I forgot to look at it in the mirror. I was so pleased and excited and then realized I had to get back to work I rushed off and almost forgot to leave a tip until I was halfway down the stairs, realized it, felt like an asshole, and ran back up to give him one.

Since then I've had no trouble talking (thank goodness because I work as a receptionist) there's some soreness and minimal swelling but Advil takes care of it like that. I eat really slowly and somewhat awkwardly (I generally have been avoiding anything too solid or heavily condimented) but other than that I'm fine. At this point I haven't told anyone about this. Well except the readers here, but at this point that's how I'll keep it because in the end I got it for myself. So for now I'm enjoying my little secret and if you're thinking about getting this piercing it's well worth it and very easily done (no pain!) and it's well hidden which is good if your family or job (in my case both) hates body mods. Happy piercing!
